83K5_blazer (she’s back!)

Rust repair and trying to un-f*ck everything the PO's had done.
It's the little things...

I can finally listen to music now! I'm using some old Delco speakers that came on the dash that I pulled out of an '84. They sound like shit but they sound better than nothing. I've got some new Kicker 3.5's coming that will go in when they get here. This head unit is what I ran in my Camaro when I was 16. It's almost 20 years old.

I have pretty much the same kenwood in my dmax still. I think mine is the next model up, has an aux input.

Sooo... I kind of pissed my wife off this morning when I told her I wanted to fly to Phoenix and pick up this truck and drive it back. It looks like it has some rust but overall, not bad! I went and looked at the 73 that was close to me this weekend and it's completely rusted out. I'd rather spend the money on a plane ticket and fly to Arizona for an almost rust free truck for the same price! The top pic is the one an hour from me and the bottom is the one is the one I really want!

Where's the second one? I could go check it out for you.
It's around Carefree, AZ. It sounds like I've got a friend heading out there to take a look at it tonight. Hopefully it looks good.
That looks like a bit of rocker rust on the Arizona one
Yeah, I noticed that but just a little bit doesn't bother me. The one that is close to me (the one with the soft top) was completely rusted out. The one in AZ doesn't appear to be all hacked up either.

So it looks like this build might be coming to an end and I'll be creating a new one for this '75, if everything works out. Looks like I have an '83 for sale now!

Gonna restore it back to a factory appearance?
Probably like a restomod. As factory as possible with a few modern comforts. I'm curious about the engine in it. It looks like it's got vortec heads on it based of the covers but I don't know if it's a whole vortec swap. I'd like to do the LS swap eventually.

An oven is a dry heat too, doesn't mean it's fun to be in :rotfl:. Make sure you guys have lots and lots of water, trust me.
