Thanks guys, it's been a emotional roller coaster around here and first death experience for my 10 year old daughter.
We're still trying to go camping but we'll wait until later tomorrow or even Saturday AM to leave. Hard to focus on packing under the circumstances.

My wife and I always talk about buying a. Bunch of land and rescuing all the older dogs that people bail on so they have a place to run and frolick until they're gone. But gotta win the lotto for that pipe dream.

I've done it too, one of the hardest decisions I've ever struggled with. I'm sorry for your loss but there's no more suffering. Try to have fun and get your mind off of it.
Oh yeah. I cried like a bitch. One of the things that helped is when we got him cremated they made an imprint of his paw in player of Paris. Which I then had tattoo'd in the spot where his paw would land when he stood up. So I kee my mutt with me always. Actually ours was just at a year few weeks ago. Still sucks.
Go have some fun. Enjoy the payoff of all your hard work.
