Can you measure something for me @skunked? I'm curious the height of the frame where the motor mount brackets bolt on. I'm wondering if there's a difference between 4wd and 2wd frames.

@mrk5

5 5/8" inside the frame rails on the front of the pedestal mount.

The people at jb fab are awesome. I met them a few months ago and they have a bad ass bronco

That's the Cummins 4bt powered bronco isn't it? Love that thing...

@skunked I missed it somewhere I think, but are you going to Y into a single muffler? And what do you think your motor is going to make? Just curious...

2.5" into 3" merge through a single 3" magnaflow. Power? No idea, it's a stock peanut port engine with a mild cam. Hopefully makes some torque, I'd like to do an 8.1l later.

I see. So it's pretty close to a race motor. I bet it will make plenty of torque for what you're doing with it!

That's the way I'm leaning.

Forgot to mention that I'll be adding a flange right after the merge so the front section of 2.5" pipe can drop out separate from the back section with the muffler.

I'll figure out the tailpipe later after the shocks, crossmembers and gas tank are mounted.

I like what you have going !
Do you think that you will want some heat protection between the trans/frame and floor? I don't think the trans will care as much as your feet! I just think about the shields like above the catalytic converter could help your floor stay cooler.

Edit : I just got a Walker ball and socket flange from Summit. It is "made in USA " and the flange plates are 5/16" thick!

Yes, I plan on adding some of that stick on heat barrier.

I couldn't find a walker ball and socket in 3". Is that the size you have? I bought a couple 3" 3 bolt flat flanges but I'd rather have a ball and socket if it's reasonably priced.

Thanks for the feedback guys

I got a 2.25". It was only $20 for the 2 pieces . I am surprised that there is no listing for 3" !

But a flat flange should work too. Lots of stuff did that at the convertor , correct ?

I saw the 2.5" walker piece and thought it was a good deal.

Yes, the flat flange is pretty common at the converter. I've bought exhaust systems with them too, should be ok.
