I like the Weld`s :thumb:

I also like the wide steelys you got on there now. Those and your old 35s would be perfect for my truck.

I like them too but they're 16.5" rims and the 37's that are going on this rig need a 16" rim.

Too bad your so far away or we could work something out on those steel rims/tires.

Yeah I knew they were 16.5s and yeah that would be a bit of a drive to get those wheels and tires from you! :haha:

yes, bit more than a Sunday cruise lol. I've been on the fence about selling them on CL since they're kinda hard to find in the 9.75" width. Tire options are dying quick though too.

Id avoid 16.5 myself.

I have 16s on my old tire setup the truck came with. There 10 inches wide, black steel wheels. I may want to part with them soon since i really need a set of smaller rollers.

Or just buy em from summit. There about 85 bucks a piece with free shipping. Id try to find them used because just like 16.5 the tire selection is dieing off slowly.

17s ftw

I am one of the few that believe the 16.5's aren't going anywhere. Tons of people use them with the H1's wheels.

I would keep them.

Probably will unless someone makes an offer that I can't pass up

I still see enough around for an offroad rig. Not like 17's obviously but they're around. I'll be running Interco's at some point and 16.5's are pretty common with those.

I definitely don't think there going anywhere but its evident that there are quite a few tire mfgs that don't support 16.5. If you want to run interco or tsl youd be ok.

I worked in a tire store for a few years, as well as still deal with tires at my current job. I know they aren't what they used to be. Just saying there will almost always be those big three that make 16.5's for more "street-able" tires, and the more extreme interco. Too many people still using them. For a more dual purpose rig, I would be 17" or 16" no doubt about it.

At some point it will be fixed..... just not a priority with the Rubicon trip 10 days out.

I'm pretty sure I said "you stupid f**k" lol, I was burned out after fighting the damn D60 carrier back into the axle earlier that morning.

The thing is, it's technically stronger the way you have it because the two ears are boxed together now. :thumb:

Okay now we want to see plenty of trail pics of this truck in action on the Rubicon! You need to make sure to have someone on the trip who will take some pics you can post. No excuses. :D

yep lots of pics and I'll have 2 GoPros on the truck.

The trip is getting pushed out 2-3 weeks though. Too many issues with the rigs to rush into the trip. K85 Octane is dealing with his snapped leaf spring bolt and wetoolowdingbangow is having 14 bolt installation issues, needs to install hydro and sliders. I think we're slated for June 5th now :D

That will probably be a better time to go anyway. Weather should be perfect there then, I imagine. Maybe you guys can organize an annual CK5 Rubicon trip like Blazer Bash in Moab in the future - if you want to go big, that is. Personally, I think 3-5 rigs, 8 at the most, would be ideal for a group to go on the Rubicon from what I've seen. Never been there, but I've seen pics and vids. Looks awesome to me. Have fun! :thumb:

An annual CK5 trip would be awesome. Lots of groups go with 20+ rigs, in fact the weekend we're planning on going there is a group of 20 and another group of 25 running that are on the Rubicon Calender of Events. The two big Jeep weekends and the holidays are the ones to avoid.

I have a gopro too and a good camera. Might pick up another gopro eventually too. 5th or 12th works good for me.

I would really really like to get something annual started. The response to the rubicon planning trip was dismal compared to how many people are on this site but if it was planned months in advance maybe more people would come. They used to have blazer fest at hollister but i think that may have died off, which sucks. Rubicon is like 17 miles long so its no issue to have 20 rigs on it at one time. Hope you make the trek sometime!

Yeah you dont want to go on the jeep events, in fact one they shut the trail down so its heeps only. Its really just a a bunch of drunks floating in water and guiding there mall rated jeeps through a trail they've dumbed down.

Yeah its mostly drunks playing butt pirate and tummy sticks wars. Have you seen them rig a winch up to keep the doors from getting a scratch? Its entertaining watching them triangulate to pull the entire vehicle away from a rock. tofu farting fairies.
