Over the next couple of days I'll get the heads on, prep & paint the rest of the engine and install some of the accessories. Really looking forward to getting this mated up to the th400/Eco/Np205 and shift my focus back to the frame work :hack::grind::weld:

Still not rooting for the Sharts. Unless they play Pittsburgh
Then maybe I'll root for an airstrike and get something done on the K10

Question for you guys about sealing the intake manifold. Some say blue rtv around the water jackets, others say leave it dry. Then where it seals to the block some say use a little rtv with the rubber gaskets and others say ditch the gasket and use a good rtv only.

I used a little bit of gaskacinch on the head side gaskets and black rtv on the rails. No leaks so far. I think a lot of people have problems w/ the rubber rails sealing on the ends, so most use rtv entirely. I've also seen people use a punch and divit up the rails to help the rtv stay in place.

Ive found through miserable experience that the best way to seal it is rtv on the ends as mentioned and I permatex the living hell out of both sides of the gasket for the water/air. I always use the red/brown non hardening permatex. Comes in a little vial with a brush inside. I swear by it. I used it on every sealing surface, especially those composite gaskets.
