Penguins are playing tough, they're defense is the differenence so far.

Everything I've read says the Weiand manifold is better performing with the peanut port heads. Then the guys at the machine shop backed that statement up and went on to say they've had a lot of problems with the eddies not fitting on 454 & 455's along with cracking. Mine didnt fit and was cracked. I have a hard time spending 300+ on another edelbrock that may not fit....the Wieand was 230 shipped. Hopefully it fits :D
I have both, the weiand is better. 455? These intakes fit Buicks?

All my intakes for like that at the start. It would have to be pretty low budget to not cut the deck to 0. Look how crude those intakes are. My street warrior was so much better looking.

If it's decked I would expect it not to fit.

Side by side there is a noticeable difference in quality and I agree the Street Warrior is a better looking design.

Manifold, valve covers and thermostat housing are installed. Need to pickup a new bypass hose and a couple manifold fittings. Also need to go back and adjust the rocker arms, I wasn't too happy with the results and I think I may need to prime the engine so the lifters firm up? I'm pretty green in the area...

After debating different fuel delivery options available I decided to go ahead and order the FiTech kit. I originally intended to do a TBI conversion later but it's probably best that I go ahead and do it now so that I'm not having to redo things later.

I always had good luck setting half the valves at TDC, roll the engine to #6 TDC and set the rest.

I have never primed the motor to set the lifters.

Conversely you can set it running, kinda messy without the rocker clips or some butchered stock valve covers to keep the oil in

That's basically what I did...
Lifters felt soft so I was having a hard time determining where zero was before giving it another 1/2 turn. It was 105 out too and I was kinda over it.

Exhaust Opening (adjust the intake) Intake Closing (adjust the exhaust). It is the only method I use in any engine from super Hs to 248 GMC inline 6s to stupid small blocks to godly big blocks.

Yeah I read that method somewhere online too. Like I said, lifters felt soft so I was questioning where "zero" was. I'll take another stab at it later when it's cooler with a fresh head on my shoulders.

I placed an order for the bigger 31 gallon K5 tank, sending unit and the AC Delco 60 psi fuel pump through rockauto. The smaller 25 gallon tank isn't enough fuel for a trip over the Rubicon or Fordyce as it turns out.

Also placed a summit order for the metric to 6 an fittings to connect the sending unit to the 3/8 & 5/16 hard line. Then per the recommendation of FiTech I bought a 6 an 30 micron filter, decided to go with the FiTech filter since summit had it in stock.

That was a quick 4 bills :doah:

having a trailer is the only way to show up with full tank. Just have to fill 2 tanks to get there lol.

I have no plans to trailer unless I haul the truck to the Tahoe side and leave the trailer at the cabin.

I was under a half tank when I got to loon lake and met up with you and @K85 Octane last year. Filled up in Georgetown, damn truck is thirsty. @bmxbryant9 ran the same route with me, not sure how he did on fuel? Hopefully the EFI helps a little.....
