So when's the frame coming in the shop, @skunked?

as soon as I get the 97 Hoe cockblocker out of my shop! #neverendingheadjob

I need to blast a few more brackets off the frame and then I'm ready to move it into the shop. Next I'll mount all the drivetrain, lay out crossmembers and weld in plate for those crossmembers to mount to. Then add some bracing and start boxing the rest in.

I think I sort of remember wanting to work on my blazer but now it's been so long I may have forgotten how, hahaha. Feel your pain on the distractions and heat woes

your distractions are more fun than mine. I think.....lol

Finally had some time to yank the truck out front so I could get the frame in the garage (stuck behind the truck on the trailer).

Winched it back into the trailer where it will likely be dismantled on.

Put the frame on the lift for some attention

Cool weather + 3 day weekend = DO WORK

Pulled the frame out in the driveway and fired up the plasma to remove all the remaining brackets. I hear some weird surge from the compressor and see it smoking

Motor shit the bed.....but the tank was full so I kept melting every rivet I could. Then hit the outside of the frame with a 3M abrasive wheel and pressured washed it clean.

Pulled it back into the shop and on the rack, installed the ORD crossmember

Then addressed a crack in the frame around one of the lower holes for the steering box.

Cut a "V" into that and laid a fatty through it and ground it flat

Capacitor failed to kick the motor over and fried the windings?

Not sure, it kicked on and ran for a short time (less than a min) and then it shut down wierd enough for me to look over at it. I'll double check the compressor spins ok and then order a new motor.

Plan now is to mock up the engine/trans/t-case and build the crossmembers.

Engine mounts fought me all the way, I guess I should expect that mixing an ORD crossmember with DIY4X mounts.

T-case isn't clocked enough at first glance.

I guess my concern on the clocking is the driveline angle as well as the front output vs driveline angle

I have the same concerns but that looks to be clocked what, an inch or so? With the added length of the range box I thought I could get a way with a flatter t-case setup. Also FWIW I'm planning on running a non cv front shaft with 1410 joints, super joint at the t-case.
