made some progress over the weekend, not as much as I wanted because we went to the Ultra 4 race Saturday however it was cool to see the pro's shred the track and smell the race gas.

Some things I crossed off the list:
  • D60 assembly (axle shafts, spindles, hubs, brakes and lockouts)
  • Replaced the leaky Derale transmission fan switch
  • Finished the passenger front hardline and welded the brake tab so it's secure
  • Installed the front fenders
  • Installed the rear driveline with longer bolts and nylock nuts at the t-case flange
  • Installed the PS belt and last -10 reservoir hose
  • Filled front and rear diffs
  • Installed Safari/Express van steering shaft. Had to modify the column a bit (grind a flat spot for the bolt) and track down the correct metric bolts
and some pics.....

buddy of mine scored a few of these from work and gave one to me. I've been looking for one of these hardware cabinets for quite a while so this is a huge score.

time to sweat your ass off since you waited til summer :rotfl:

We have a 5-7 days of 100+ heat in the 10 day forecast so I'll be right there with ya.

Lol forecast said 114 this weekend. What did you replace the fan switch with? I snapped mine off....

Bought another from derale. The brand new one leaked right at the base of the sensor (bronze sleeve in the pic below). From the reviews it seems this is/was a common issue with the derale fan switches.

Mine did the same thing, gave it a little turn and snap!!!! I have searched and didn't come up with anything better unfortunately.

ah.....that sucks. FWIW the replacement was different, the sensor was not bottomed out in the AL fitting like the other was. I'll know if it leaks in the next couple of days.

Thanks

This is the 4th engine I've installed FiTech on so far and I'm pretty happy with it.

Bumps are a variation of others designs, I just used what I had laying around to get it done.

You suck.
I just bought two of these for my new digs at 75 each.
Prime got me free shipping though.
I watched clist for 8 months before I bought new...

That's not a bad price, I bet the one I have was several hundred since it's a Wurth brand. I actually think I might get another from him, he doesn't think he needs two for his garage.

No, I waited for Amazon to drop the price a bunch, got a decent deal, but not free..View attachment 233275

Not to hi-jack any further but Durham bins are well made so even for the $102 price I may have to pick a couple up. They're what we have in our service trucks (although the drawer type) and they hold up very well.
