Not to hi-jack any further but Durham bins are well made so even for the $102 price I may have to pick a couple up. They're what we have in our service trucks (although the drawer type) and they hold up very well.
I got them sold by Amazon and it was 71. But the odd thing was they wouldn't sell me more then one. Said I was at the limit.
So I logged on under my wife's name and bought another one.

Thanks

This is the 4th engine I've installed FiTech on so far and I'm pretty happy with it.
On any of those have you added the timing control later down the road? Just curious what real world/seat of the pants differences the timing control makes.

Yes on the sbc stroker 70 El Camino. We noticed a big enough difference that it was worth the effort and we're not finished tweaking the settings on that one. The ability to control the timing was a big reason why I wanted EFI in the first place.

made a little progress over the weekend with a setback as well.

  • Relays and fans are wired, fitech triggered.
  • Stole the 89-94 steering wheel from Sancho and installed that.
  • Cleaned up some wiring under the dash, removed the e-brake pedal, hood latch and reinstalled the cluster.
  • Filled the power steering system, found a leak this morning on the box at the input shaft. I'm going to pull it tonight and send it back to West Texas Offroad for a rebuild, which I should have done before.
  • Mocked up positions for the winters and the t-case shifters, luckily I have monkey arms so I can keep them somewhat low so the cables can run under the bench and out the floor. Eventually I will have buckets and a full cage so this is somewhat a temporary install. I've got a couple ideas how I want to run the cables through the floor, more on that later.
  • Received my two 6" Sidetracked mini light bars that will replace each of the turn signal/marker lights under the headlight in the grille.

It's been over a hundred every day since Friday and will continue for the next week with temps reaching 108-110 the next few days.

Dual auto shifters.
Sweet.

My 2 year old nephew would be pissed if I removed the column shifter.

Shipped the steering gear to west texas offroad for a rebuild. I'll probably pull the power steering belt so I can test the fans, play with the EFI some more and bleed the brakes. Maybe even get the bed back on....

It's still stupid hot here and I'm leaving for a business trip next week for 2.5 weeks.

Someplace cold I hope

So I'm new to this whole timing control and being able to set it where I want. What do you plan to set for idle, cruise, and WOT timing? Right now mine is 25/36/36. Seems like it much be all in by 2000 or not much higher. I only set the idle and WOT timing, the rest is default Sniper.

Bled the brakes, had to re-flare the rear line where it transitions to flexible stainless. Ran into an issue when hooking the booster up to the brake pedal, started a thread here https://ck5.com/forums/threads/brake-pedal-booster-linkage-question.330704/ Looks as if I may have a Vacuum pedal and Hydroboost pedal bracket.
Talked to West Texas Offroad on Friday and they're 2-2.5 weeks out :doah:Hopefully it's back when I get back from my bizznizz trip, I'll be staying on top of them over the next 10-14 days.
Ran a new tail light harness and the fuel sending unit wire.
Shot the back of the cab with some paint so it's not green.
For the fuel filler neck I picked up a SS 90 bend and some fuel line, cut a new hole in the bed so that would pop through a little cleaner than before.

Why did you go with West Texas Offroad? It sounds like you may have used them before, just curious why them over another company.

I bought the box used and previously built/ported by West Texas Offroad. Figured it was best to send it back to them since they built it.

Where will the filler neck end?

It will continue up the inside of the bed to a factory filler neck that I cut down. It has a flange on it that will screw to the bed for now however I plan to build a sheet metal box for it later. Not really a priority right now.

Are you going to run it up to the top of the bed rail or leave it kinda down in?
