My neighbor is a WW2 vet, flew over Berlin. Said the 1911 was the best weapon he ever carried. Was shot down 4 times, said the 1911 saved his life, with or without ammo. Could crack a man's skull through the helmet.

Another Vietnam vet friend, who was much more effected by PTSD, said and I quote "it would blow their eyeballs out of their slope heads when they got hit in the chest".
