I'm too afraid I'm going to need to adjust it in the future to make it too permanent. I used a big set screw so I could get some good torque on it. I'm always worried I would round out the inside of the bolts that came with it.

I think it was loose, one of the bolts was missing and I never used loctite obviously. In theory you shouldn't need to adjust it but I could smash the tie rod too.....

This first trip to the Bash with the crew cab my exact same tie rod clamp slid. I ended up drilling and tapping a set screw into the middle to help hold it. Haven't had an issue since.
I was thinking about laying a bead on either end of the tie rod but I may use your set screw idea.
@muddysub spotted what looked like the same slip on my suburban when we were at the trailhead for Gemini bridges, and at first I thought my clamp had slid, too. In fact, the clamp was tight and the ram had backed the tie rod off of the jam nuts. Simple fix at the time.

The setscrew idea makes sense, and also consider double checking that the clamp is acting on the tie rod in a way that tightens the threads on rod end rather than (as in my case) loosens them.

Great photos. Better truck.

Hope you come back in 2018. Yours was the other rig I didn't get to look over much

Your trail runs looked uneventful, no tire wagging fun

Getting more expensive by the minute...

lol

I was on the fence about installing a removable door in my bed floor for easy pump replacement however after all the pump fiasco's at BB I decided to make it a priority.

I picked up another delco pump and I bought this inspection cover intended for marine use:

I'm going to fab a cover for my soon to be tank as well. Too easy to resolve issues vs the "drop the tank" bs

Initially I was thinking it's not too hard to unbolt the bed, lift it up with the jack to access the pump. However it's a lot easier to open a access hatch and just swap it out. Also, it's not a question IF it will need to be replaced, it's a matter of WHEN it will need to be replaced.

I was just going to cut out the panel and put some flat steel under with some weld nuts on them. That way the floor would still have the ribbing and blend in.
