Where did the "Animal" come from?

Buddy of mine nicknamed it after riding through Moab and a couple other trails with me. If you’re a product of the 80’s you’ll remember the toy truck with claws that would come out of the tires.

When I was in Moab last year my buddy had never been wheeling other than flying through a mud field so he was quite freaked out by the hill climbs and ledges. Halfway through the first day he was pointing out the harder lines and that’s when he started repeating the animal commercials every time we hit a hard line lol. I had one of those toys and remember playing with it in the sandbox as a child.

the trucks were released around 1984 IIRC which meant I was 6 so that's about right.
We had the claw in the early 90s forgot all about that thing until all this animal talk

I got my son a new version of the claw for xmas last year, never new they used to make them.
This is funny. When you put that name up, I remembered the jingle from the commercial, but I didn’t remember what the truck looked like. Don’t think I ever actually had one. But I had the Stompers.
