That’s a lot of water!

and the pictures really don't show it that well. Lot's of snow run off.....

I wish we had a river crossing trail like that. At least I think I do. Haha! Sounds fun anyway. :D

It's more fun when it's hot.

Such a beautiful place, I love Fordyce pics.

for sure, I love it. I'm moving about 30 minutes closer so I'll be about 30-35 minutes from the trail head.

Fathers day weekend we decided to try a new trail (new to us) called Hell Hole trail which is just below Rubicon. The trail is at Hell Hole Reservoir which ended up being about a 2.5hr drive from my house. The drive included about 1.5hrs of narrow and steep road along a cliff side at 20-25 mph. That was fun towing....

We found the trailhead just after 6:00pm, unloaded the trucks and hit the trail by 6:45pm

Sunday morning we hit the trail early since we had fathers day commitments. I was leading us through a difficult section with large boulders and mud when the rock under the drivers front tire shifted and wedged itself between my axle and belly skid and my rear driveshaft was sitting on another rock. When I got out to take a closer look I noticed my oil pan kissed the big ass rock wedged between the skid and D60. So I pulled cable (rope)....

Shortly after this section I had to pull cable again and snapped my winch rope. I noticed the winch was loud and I couldn't get it to free spool properly so something was wrong with it. I think it's time to pony up for a Warn or something better than the chinese crap I've been running for the past 8 years.

One of the trailer tires was hissing air when I arrived home Sunday, on Monday I found 3 of the 4 tires were flat. Further research found the tires were 8 ply and about 3.5 years old so they clearly didn't like the windy and bumpy roads. Luckily they made it home. All five were replaced a couple weeks ago with 10 ply.

So you're leaving Lincoln?

Damn trailer tires don't even go 5 years anymore.

The only trailer tires that go 5 years with me are the ones that sit for 5 years

If they get close to 5 years I know I’m on borrowed time.

I'm rockin 10 years on the tires on my little 12 foot trailer! LOL. Although, i will admit, they've needed to be replaced due to lowish tread for a year or two at least. Now it sets a lot so I haven't bought any yet.

On a utility trailer I could see that. The car haulers or equipment trailers are another story.

I’m jonesing to get my blazer into fordyce. Being in Carson City that whole area has been my playground for the last 30 years. No o that I’ve given up Toyota’s everything is going to be fresh and new in a foolsize

I’m sure we’ll run into each other out there. The foolsized rigs standout on the trail :saweet:

We had a few other trips in August and September that I haven't posted any photos from. The last trip I broke a tie rod as I left camp, must have broke as I came into camp the night before. I had a spare in the tool box and we had it swapped out in 15 minutes or so.

I didn't take very many pics on this one but Zak snapped one on driveline hill.

Coming off the trail I noticed the truck was running kind of rough and it died as I pulled up to the tow rig. After setting up the ramps and stabilizers the truck wouldn't restart and I had to winch it onto the trailer. A few weeks later I was back in town from traveling and the truck fired up like nothing was wrong. Something still isn't right with the tune and it's always had an intermittent issue starting with the occasional backfire/fireball out the exhaust that needs to be addressed.
