I really like how yours swings down as we know maintenance is required on these rigs. The first crossmember I posted above has a swing down skid that's pretty slick.

Thanks, it's not quite done yet but this discussion might give me the motivation to finish it up soon. There are going to be more frame tie ins off the side of the belly skid but it will still swing down when finished, just have to remove some bolts. Right now the trans mount is actually holding the belly skid up in the front instead of the other way around like it will be when it's finished.

I figured you were going to add a crossmember or a couple tie ins up front, makes sense. Finish those karts, the K5 is more interesting:D

My transmission guy just sent me this

So I'm off to buy another case

Trans builder was happy that I'm building an HD case now

Funny this thing has the correct output and adapter that I spent over $200 buying individually

Went and dropped off the new to me HD trans and looked over the other transmission. Only a couple of the lugs were broken and he showed me the broken pressure plate that caused the broken lugs. Overall the trans was in bad shape, lots of material in the pan to show for it. Between the two cases and a box of new rebuild parts I should have a fresh transmission to put back in this pig.

thats what I was told, in fact the trans builder said that he would run the case if it was a lighter 2wd truck.

Been working on some other projects around the house that I needed to finish so I could free up some space in the garage. I built these cabinets for my daughters room, finally got them installed today

Need to caulk some trim, install drawer pulls and touch up some paint, otherwise I can check this one off the list.

Finished up the 205 over the weekend.

Someone had sprayed the whole case at some point but I like the AL bits in a natural finish so I used some aircraft paint stripper and stripped the paint off them. Here it is all stripped and sealed ready to be taped off.

My preferred color for 98% of everything under my truck, Rustoleum 7777 (satin black)

Eco updates next :D

I'll try to document the Eco box assembly as clearly as I can.

For the Eco Box you'll need a donor box with the correct input for whatever trans you want to run. I'm running a th400 so I picked up a np241 32 spline which has the six gear planetary set, shift collar, snap ring and input bearing.

Here is the outer planetary ring along with some detailed photos showing the ribbing.

Note the orientation of the ring going into the case

I realized after I didn't take any pictures of the actual pressing of this however with anything you're pressing you wan to keep it square. I had to walk it around a little and I used various sockets as a gauge to measure the height starting with a 17mm down to a 10mm.

NWF says you want this ring flush or just below the AL face

Overall this was a pretty straight forward step, I was concerned about it however everything is machined so well it's makes the task pretty easy.

BTW- The 20 ton HF press handled it with ease.
