84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
Just ordered some injector return line to fix the leaking ones. I got the german line that doesnt require the clamps, its the same stuff accurate diesel sells just in bulk.

Cool. I am interested in hearing how well it works, I'll be redoing return lines again in the near future. Don't remember what I used last time, it was some form of pre-made kit (with clips).

Bulk line seems like a better idea overall.

Big update!

I fixed my headlights!
And I got it over 50 mph! Super smooth actually.. Decent power considering what it is I was surprised it wasn't revving it's guts out.. Thursday it gets registered..

Sorry for the crappy video, the smoke was tripping out the phone. And the fan wouldn't come off the clutch .. I'll try to get another vid to hear the v8ness it actually sounds pretty good considering it's bone stock.

If anyone was wondering, I shut it off to show how it starts, and it's a little rough at idle I think because the injector return lines leak pretty bad.. I'm hoping that will clean up when I replace them.

Might just be me, but I thought idle was fine. I assume the revving is all done by your foot, it sounded right to me. :dunno:

If you're worried, post a clip of just idle (like you did before), we'll analyze it to death if you want input. But rattling, clattering awesomeness is just par for this engine. :)

It has a little roughness when warmer and it hazes quite a bit when cold.. Once it's warm it doesn't smoke much at all. I'm not really too concerned and I really don't know how consistent these idle so that was more of the worry than anything, I really thing it's just loosing a little fuel pressure from the leaking water sensor and the leaking return lines which makes sense to me that it wouldn't idle as smooth.. Otherwise it seems fine.

Here is a vid of my C1500 I installed dual 3" with Summit two chamber mufflers. Sounds like a big block...still gutless but sounds great. :D

Can you please change the thread title to "Dirty Ethel"?

Just seems better
