84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
I know it saddens you to see a 6.2 rattler get yanked, but it's ideal for an LS swap in such a overly regulated state. I respect the fact he's wanting to pull the diesel before doing something crazy and blowing it up with a ton of boost.

It's not a 6.2 thing for me, it just seems backwards to part out what my region would consider a perfect, unmolested work truck, plus he had complained about having to fix the crunched fender. I thought he'd be dollars ahead by buying a $300 chassis that isn't crunched, but evidently not. I also thought that a stick shift swap would be easier than the 4L80 he now has. But evidently not.

Steve, your threads bounce through more potential ideas than do most threads.

FWIW, I don't think a name change is necessary.

I dream big... I'm an optimist. I have lots of ideas, that's just how I am if I was a millionaire I'd be broke in a year probably because I'd be building ten trucks at the same time...

I understand the ambition and the dreaming big. I take a similar approach to life (though my hobbies lately haven't been automotive, so they don't show up here). That's why I have a K5 even though the dreams quickly outgrew it. At one point it was an idea, which later morphed into a Suburban.

Steve, don't listen to these guys that have to make up for there lack of manliness by driving a stick shift and bragging about it.

For you this combo will be fine, add a nice Torquey cam and a exhaust, with a good tune and you will have a nice little 380-400hp setup there. And there is nothing wrong with a stout 4L80E.

If it was mine I would look for a 8.1, or find a 454 to stroke out to a 489 and dump an efi kit on top.

But if you already have the 5.3, just go with what you have planned.

Haters gonna hate
