84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
Most seat belts I've been around you pull them all the way out to activate the lock then retract til it's tight and it should be locked.

Inertia belts don't do that, your thinking of emergency locking witch is speed based or and auto locking type, inertia belts are really old school. Any belts you buy that replace these are as you say locking when pulled all the way out.

So, a couple things here.

First it took me a bit, but I finally read this one. And I am very certain I want one now.

2nd, truck looks really good. Glad to see it found you for a home.

And B, my son laughed very hard about the trees smacking my face and the mirrors. But I'd take a hit to the face with a Blue Spruce any day to hear that laugh!
Thanks man! The giggles and laughs are all worth the beating..
I told @bergerking Liam was gonna be on missions with us soon. We'll see how much hell tolerate and go from there. He's been on two rides so far, once with the Dirty C and now with Ethel.. Both times he's been great.
This next go around I might goto some sandy areas and let him play around and maybe bring some trash can lids to slide on.

Soooo...how do you lock one of these?

Good job dad. :waytogo:
One of my boys is turning 16 in September and is saving up for parts for the 76 k25 I have sitting around. I have most of the stuff it needs but he has to get a set of tires and misc parts for it... Then we get to do some wheeling together. Once I finish mine that is...

Well, got the crane in, got a Dana 70hd, which has 4.56 gears..
Not sure what the most cost effective thing to do is regarding regearing it. I need a carrier and the gears.
Thoughts anyone? This might be crazy but I'd be willing to trade someone a 3.73 gear set if they wanted 4.56.
This is nice because the 4 inch tubes, huge brakes and 65wms width. From my measurements I think the hub will fit in the stock center hole.

Yea it doesn't..
Pulled cover on said Dana, open 4.56 for sure. Silly thing is if this was any other truck I'd be killing for this ratio! Lol but this ain't any truck. It's a diesel with no overdrive and almost a grand in new tires sooo... Hmm..

Did I miss something? Why is the 65" WMS to WMS good for you? This is from a 2WD rig yes?

I understand the desire for 3.73 gears. If you had a more common GM axle I think you'd have an easier time swapping with someone.

It woulda been close enough to swap in but I'll just sell it. From talking I a few buddies with the tires I'm running I should be fine for a long time with that semi floater..
