84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
It’s a 10, and I think I found a buddy with one local. Just gotta figure out how much for it.. this dominoes effect is getting and keeping my ass broke.. I swear, I need to rebuild the trans, both axles, the tie rod ends and tie rod need to be replaced, the seat needs a proper cover, ac installed and clutch throw out bearing and pivot ball need to be swapped for adjustable parts. Then the last less important stuff like the front antisway bar needs to be dropped so I can connect it and the shocks all need to be replaced as well.. oh ya and tires.. I forgot how much maintenance cost..

Well...if all else fells...I might have something you want but it's not a 10 bolt, I also have tires.
Axle is a Dana 44 with I believe 373 gears but not 100% on that. I know it needs wheel studs and maybe an oil change lol.
Tires are 35x12.5x16.5 bf Goodrich, maybe 30% tread left.

This is pretty much why mine has been down for over two years... you will get it. At least you have been able to take it out and beat on it a little as well as DD it! That says a lot! And you have learned a lot through the process and posted up a lot of tech.

@MetalMulishaMarcus that doesn’t help me! 6 lug crap doesn’t interchange completely with the 8 lug!! Damnit, o well..
but yes this is far superior in paying on a car I don’t own.. it really has derailed my attempt to become debt free by a few years I might add.. this among others.. but still the satisfaction of the truck I put back together is still kinda working everyday.. that is ok @F.S.F.W is right, it’s taught me a ton, and will continue..

It's totally fine, I have a 12 bolt you can swap in as well, then you'll be 6 lug all around lol jk.
Oh well I tried.

I have a heavy cast iron bbc on a ten bolt with 35’s and a mini spool. So far no issues at all, but I am careful not to “bounce” it. I am in the process of getting a dana 60 finally though to start building.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here, but aren't the D44's and 10B axles the same parts from the knuckles out? They use the same part numbers for the lockouts, bearings ect... Take advantage of the D44 and swap your 8 lug outers to it. I know there isn't any major strength gain but a working diff is better than one that don't right?

Yeah. So the 8 lug outers will go on d44 spindles. Still need the 3/4 inner bearing though
