84 k5 blazer

Did you try spinning the flexplate first? THere are 6 holes in it, and when I just put mine in i got freaked out when they didnt line up. Spun it one set of holes and they lined up. Must be on a different diameter. Just a thought.

yes, I was hoping that it had both bolt patterns and it doesn't. Taking a break from it today, tear it out tomorrow.

Honestly if u dont have all wires and carb hooked up pulling the motor would be less time consuming imo. Bell housing bolts and 2 motor mount bolts seems easier than sliding a tranny back by yourself on the ground.

I think the easiest would be to unbolt the trans and slide it back 4-6 inches verse pull the motor. The BB is tight in there, would have to remove valve covers, brake booster, and headers to get it out. Sure could use a hand if you wanna come down here with that new tranny for me to test for ya.

Good point. Sorry man its already in my blazer and i need it for the dunes tommorow! Lol. I would love to lend a hand if i could afford that much gas haha

Its all good. Just finish swapping the flexplates out. Fed-Ex guy showed up and UPS also with more stuff. I opened up the radiator to check it out and I was in shock. I knew the box looked a little small for a radiator to be in it. They sent me an AC Condenser instead of the radiator :doah:. I called them and they apologized about twenty times. They said they would send me the correct part Monday. Hopefully everything else will be ready by then :woot:.

Oh.....I can see pictures again now.

Here are a couple shots of the 454 in the blazer......not finished yet, still waiting on a radiator and the new power steering pump was leaking so I need to replace that as well.

Had enough playing and tinkering on this. I got to get my exhaust hooked up. I am unofficially deaf now with it running off the hooker headers. Hopefully get it by the shop Tuesday to re connect it all up.

Upgrade

Last week I pulled the motor to change the timing gear, it was advanced 4* so I zero'ed it. Put a new stall converter in, rewired the lock-up converter, installed 800cfm carb and opened the gaps on the spark plugs. Much better.

That looks awesome wih the big block. What doesn't? Haha. Rest if the truck looks good too. Hope the rest of you drivetrain can hold up to the 600hp.

Parting Out and/or selling as whole

I'm either selling as whole or parting out, I blew the Torque Converter and/or trans. Let me know what you want.
