Nice truck man. Have u made any more progress on it? I think I actually emailed u a week ago on your old tranny.

This truck is going to look perfect. Already does actually. At least you got something to occupy your time out there. I don't know if it's true, but I've heard that Holloman is the most boring place in the world. I know a guy who transferred out there and he just hates it. Maybe he needs to score an awesome classic like the one you have and then he won't be so bummed out. :thumb:

Keep up the good work.

thanks. Progress has been a little slow lately. Flipped the four wheeler so I had to buy some parts for that. ripped the evap canister out from under the JK so now I'm fising that. Don't know why they put a skid plate under everything else and leave the canister out in the open... This is the second time I've knocked it off. Ordered a new skid for it though so I shouldn't have any more issues. Found a NV4500 in AZ that I have to go pick up. I'll post a few picks as soon as I get it in the garage.

Didn't see any email about the tranny. :dunno: Shoot me a PM. Hopefully it works this time.

Holloman isn't to bad if you are an outdoors kinda person. There's all kinds of places to hike, and 4 wheel. If your into hunting there is a lot of that in the mountains. If you ride dirt bikes or ATVs there is a desert racing series. There is a casino and ski resort about 45 minutes away. It does suck for a city person though. Not much to do in town.... Is your friend still here? If he has a 4x4 we can show him where some good trails are. If not he can ride with us for a couple of trips. I'm sure I can convince him to get one. :D

I kinda figured it was like that. This guy is more of a party type guy. I think that's why he doesn't like it out there. He's more of the "single and ready to mingle" type. A couple of weeks after he got out there, he called us on the DSN and said "I'm the only black guy in the whole state!" :haha: He's a civilian guy named Jimmy Ballard. If you ever run into him, ask him what he thinks about off roading in general. I would probably fall out if I ever saw him in a 4x4. He did used to have a side by side though...

haha. I can see how he wouldn't be a big fan of this place. We have one bar, it's right next to wal mart:haha:

That's because wal mart takes all your money then u can walk next door and drink it off!! I go down to Alamo at least few times a week for work. I hate it there. I love living in the mountains.

Ruidoso is deff a nicer town than alamo. We were going up there all the time when my wife was pregnant cause the hospital down here sucks.

Scored a 3/4 ton 44 from k5blazerguy with the gears I want and the flat steering knuckles. Should make crossover steering a little easier. :woot:

yup. Oil was pretty nasty. You can tell it's been sitting for awhile, but it's got the 4.10s and the gears are in good shape. Now I just need to get everything cleaned, rebuilt, and painted. :grind::weld: Should work pretty good. :thumb:

Theres a guy selling a 14 BFF in Roswell he wants 175. It's in a 94 Chevy. I have a dodge Dana 60 from a 97. Has 4:10s.

I think I'm gonna look for a 14 bolt out of a van. They're a couple inches wider than the ones in the trucks. Should even up the track width.
