85 K10 - lightning

Where do you work on Holloman, I use to live in La Luz got a ton of GM stuff down there still if you need a rear end I probally have one

how bad does it hit? You have a pic in your thread somewhere?

Sorry I don't have any direct pics of the oil pan to cross member clearance, but for reference I can barely fit the tip of a screw driver between them. :eek1:

My buddy luke has a few I'm sure what ratio and how much do you want to spend I can PM you his number, he lives out towards tularosa

Jeez. I wish I still had the stock pan off my old motor laying around to test fit. I was looking at a couple of s10 v8 conversion pans too. They are about 3 - 4 inches deep above the crossmember and they don't slope down. Do you know how many inches it is from the bottom of your block to the crossmember?

I have no idea and I'm traveling so I can't go and measure for ya :doah:

This should solve the clearance issues. If I still need a little more I'll space up the motor mounts. In the spirit of greg72 I figured I might as well get a better pan since I was going to replace the old one anyways. :D

lol. I wish. I was staring at motors on Jegs and saw the free shipping sale on crate motors. I told my wife about it and she told me to get the motor so I hit the order button before she could change her mind.

Always liked the design of the Ramjets...nice engine!

Wow! You're going to make a lot of folks here jealous with them floorboards...
count me in!

Got the pan on. Now lets see if I can get the motor to slide in it's home...

looking bitchin'... awaiting the install!

Thanks! Next step is to get the headers and accessories for the motor so I can make sure I won't have any clearance issues with the coilovers. This build seems to be sliding a little further from mild rebuild everytime I buy a new part.

Geez... hard to believe it's been 6 years since this truck got sidelined... no worries though I'll be back at it soon.
Need to give it a new name though.

Prolly name the truck after this thing and start calling it lightning. It'll be over budget and way past the deadline... but it will be cool
