85 Suburban. Back in the shop

just read your build thread ,nice job:waytogo:,maybe meet up for for some wheelin before BB this year

Rig is looking bitchen Brad. I am ready to wheel now. When are we gonna do a trail? :waytogo:

sorry folks, been away from the CK5 world for some time...on vacation.

I would love to go wheeling soon, Im pretty booked trough mid August tho. well, that is if i can get the wrap bar done and exhaust re-routed.

Adam, at the moment I plan on mounting the shackle up to keep the main long bar as parallel to the ground as possible without having too much hanging down....for now, that also seemed the best way with the diff mounting i have set up.

i need to run through some AS calculations to see where im at. the long tube of the wrap bar is the 5 foot long.

Fancy.

Martin
Thanks, its just a ruff stuff kit with a crossmember i made.

Everything has changed on mine from the engine back and frame down!

Developed a miss and backfire with a obd code 34 recently though and its kicking my butt.:doah:

I made the imaginary line from axle tube to shackle mount parallel with my drive shaft, and made my shackle perpendicular to that line, and my blazer launches nice and flat. I have the shackle pointing up from the mount.

I also made the pivot at the center of my cv joint in the drive shaft. No binding at all :thumb:

Adam, nice layout.

I read somehwere your theory, and I like it also. But talking to some of my off road guys they recommended keeping close to parallel to ground or close to a degree up.

Also I wanted to.have the front pivot just in line with the.u.joint. I always thought bar should be same lenght and angle of drive shaft, but I was told to.let the suspension and shaft work independently. But use one pivot tge same..

Im not totally sure how to.explain each theory because ive heard.both work well.

I feel.as long as your a little positive with the anti squat numbers you.will.be fine for loading the leafs right going up rocks.

I havent messd with mine and its all mocked up still. Actually, im going to change the rear mounting and incorporate into an axle truss. And go through possible scenarios again.

Well my typical 5 month update.

Welded axle truss and started on the anti wrap crossmember.

Got 12 inch shocks instead of 14s.

As im remounting rear shocks (again) I have an option to run two rear shocks on each wheel. Has anyone ever ran 4 shocks.

Im kinda thinking 4 shocks will work good when all loaded down. Thanks

And today. Far from done but trussed, shocks mounted. Have all plans out for anti wrap bar and need to finish lower bar of it

Anti wrap almost done. Trying to get the angle of the shackle right. My 're springs droop so far there is moved the back back much. A compromise of perfect angle at ride height and how much the bar moves drooped & articulated

Thanks. Cant get other pics to load for some reason.

Rides real nice with the two shocks in the rear. Blasted it around yesterday and can tell a huge difference with the anti wrap bar

Monthly update. Going in for exhaust on Wednesday. Gonna be a little tricky.
Prior i had to change up some tubes on the header . the pic is close to where it ended up
