This was as far as I could remove the dash. It was loose from everywhere but the top and it looked like it went up behind the windshield molding. Anyone know if it can be remove with pulling the windshield? I would like to remove this part of the dash one day and build a whole new one from scratch but i would like to get this one out to resell it.

Before cutting

For some reason the next few pics are foggy. The inside lense on the camera was foggy and I couldnt clear it up.

Still need to remove the front bumper. I think that I am gonna just pull this one and sell it and build a new one instead of cutting this one up.

Driver side shortened

There was really no way to have the top portion line back up because of the different sizes. One of these day I may end up building a whole new core supporto to where it will be a lot smoother across there.

A lot more room behind the fender now.

When I get it back up and running I will get some better day time pics with everything finished up.

Ok if I am following what you are doing, you are converting a Carbed motor to run TBI correct? If so post up lots of info, as I am considering a 350 TBI to swap my tired old 350 out. Really like the idea of the TBI, but really worried about getting the computer and everything working correctly.

That is correct. THe setup I am using is from a lat 80 blazer. I will make sure and get lots of pics of the process.

with the window out I cut the dash out with a sawzall as close to the window as I could----no other way

I figured it would have to be cut out. I wont mess with pulling the windshield though I will just cut it as close as I can to the windshield.

Well then I will be following this closely. I already have a complete TBI 350 with harness and computer, but I am going to completely rebuild the engine before dropping it in. Probably going to be a winter project getting it all setup. Right now the setup is complete so if you need anything as far as connector location let me know and I will do what I can to assist.

Yeah it got the right side of my bed and my exhaust. I am gonna be trying that hill again next time I go. I will have the TBI on then so hopefully I will be able to get enough of a running start to bump up it and not choke out the carb. I dug it out pretty good last time I was there.

I got to work on the truck about 5 hours today after I helped a friend build a rollcage on his blazer. The truck has had a misfire and running kind of rough so I picked up some new plugs, headers gaskets, and header bolts. I figured now would be the time to replace those since the fenders are off and I want the motor running smooth before I swap to the TBI. Also this week I ordered a MSD coil, new flex-lite VSC for me e-fans, new lights for the front to replace stockers, some switches, a fuse block to go on firewall, and 25' of 4 guage red and 25'4 guage black wire to relocate my batteries to the bed. I got my coil and VSC yesterday still waiting on the rest. I went ahead and removed all the factory wiring for the stock headlights and horns. I also picked up a new Grant steering wheel today and finally got rid of the big ass stock one. I also picked up 2 sets of hood pins so that I can get those mounted up after I get the fenders on for the final time. I think that I am gonna go ahead and order a set of new headers too because the set I have I got free from a friend of mine and they are cheapo auto zone ones and pretty rusted and not sealing worth a damn on the heads or the collectors.
Also started building a bracket to mount my OBA york compressor. It will be bolted to the driver side of the motor and a belt coming off of the power steering pump. I will not be building a adjustable bracket since I should be able to get the power steering pump belt tight and the york belt tight with the adjustment on the pump.
I may be ordering some 2"X4" tubing to build some rock sliders and some DOM tubing this week to build a roll cage. I havent decided yet if I am gonna order the metal or not. I will have to wait and see how the funds are in the bank. I bought a new 60 gallon 220 air compressor the other and a new toolbox from TSC so I may have to wait on the cage.

Hey your windshield sticker is "Diggin' Deep"...is that a club or just a sticker you serious mud guys have? I remembered seeing it on this one too...

Diggin deep was a club of a bunch of different guys. It wasnt just a mudding club just a bunch of 4wds. Some some and some rocks guys. The guy I bought my truck from was part of the group. That sticker is about to come offf of my truck and be replaced with a dynamic customs sticker. THere are still a few truck with the stickers but not really a big thing anymore. That truck you posted pics of belongs to a guy that lives a couple towns from me his name is steve. That used to have one hell of a motor in it but he blew it up.

I worked on my OBA bracket for my york today. I got it all finished up and bolted on measure the distance for the belt and went got one. The way I designed it the belt was gonna come off of the power steering pump and the bracket didnt have any adjustment. I had to move the belt from the crank to the PS pump to a the outside belt groove on the pulley and I used the inside groove for the OBA. Well put all the belts on and started it and found out that when you move the belt going to the PS pump you can go straight from the crank to the pump. You have to go around the crank, water pump, and then to the pump. So now need a new belt because it was rubbing the water pump and melted it. After looking at it for a few minutes and fighting to get the belts on and off I figured out a way to build the bracket and have some adjustment on the bracket hold the york. So I am gonna work on that some more tommorow and hopefully have it back on. I after I get a good working design I am gonna take it to a local place here that has a water jet and let them take down the measurement and I am gonna have a couple more cut out and I will weld them up and sell them if anyone is insterested since they dont make a bracket for these motors.
