'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
Guy had the body lift and poly set on c-list for $50 so I bought both for the body lift. My body bushings are in great shape, so not sure if I'll even replace them at all. Believe me, I had the Marty voice resonating in my mind when purchasing it from him.

Its not too bad. I got a little pissed because i threw all the old stuff in the garbage and then had to go get it back out because they reused the metal plate thingies. Let me know if you get stuck.

Mine came with a bunch of hardware. I'll have to dig it out tonight and see what it came with. Not sure who it's even from.

I want it all poly simply because the rest of the cage and sliders will be tied in with poly.

Not sure if it's an issue, but I am solid mounting my cage to the frame. Not worried about noise and vibrations, just worried about strength issues.

prob just use what you have however you may need to visit the local hardware store.

Getting this ready for BMR in Disney, OK March 18th-19th.

Need to replace the 11yr old red top that is in it. I am hearing that optima has lost their quality, and that you can get the same battery for a lot less $$$ now.

Who is using what? And what is a good alternative to the red top Optimas?

I'm running a Duracell now.

My last interstate lasted 3 years on a DD.

Pretty much everything is duracell now. I went to 3 different places for a battery for a car and the only option was duracell. Its still working just fine.

Batteries are hit or miss. Knowing what i know about batteries there isnt a huge difference. Even the "best" screw up.

Interstate bought optima and apparently theyre made in mexico now...like everything else.

There also seemed to be a decline in reliability once they got a military contract....cheapest bidder stuff.
