'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
Since I'm bored here at work, here is the doner/my first build(highschool build). After I pulled the eng/trans/t-case/axles out of this it was mainly a shell and frame. I gave it to my dad and told him to build something to keep up. Well, he is currently ahead of me and the truck doesn't even run yet. This is a small parts list of items on the truck or going on it.

-5.3 LS eng with a 3800 Whipple Super Charger, ceramic headers
-D60/14bff 5.38 gears detroit front and rear, disc brakes, pinion guard and diff cover
-Jazz fuel cell
-Hired Gun Offroad LS oil pan
-44 TSL on MRW beadlocks
-PSC full hydro
-Artech Hydro mount/skid plate
-Artech double sheer steering arms
-TH400 with reverse valvebody and 205 T-case
-05 Tahoe e-fan and rad set up
-Ruff Stuff anti-wrap bar

My dad, brother(GaryWeak84), and myself started this last winter, but since my brother is stationed in Montana it makes it difficult for us to get together and get stuff done.

Oh yeah, and since my brother will put his 2 cents in I will add this.

-64" rear
-ORD shackle flip

Well, I hate to say this but BMR wasn't what I thought it was......IT WAS KICK A$$!!!

We got there friday afternoon and unloaded our trucks to check this place out. Started doing some trail riding and before we knew it we had been on the trail for 2 hours already. There was every shape and size of rig on the trails. A hand full of nice fullsizes and a lot (and I mean way too many) cherokees there. But, disaster struck friday afternoon. The fuel pump on my truck started to leak fuel, spit and sputter, and smoke real bad. I didn't think to check that till we loaded the trucks up sunday to come home. I saw the fuel pump spitting fuel out and knew that was it all along :doah: I did run the truck all weekend, but did not do alot of hard wheeling since the truck was not running very well. Never died on me just ran like is was getting flooded. I only managed to get a couple pictures while there due to the trails being packed and the fact I didn't get real crazy with anything. I will say that it was still one of the funnest events I've been to. Everything from mall crawlers to rock bouncers were on the trails.

Sorry not alot of progress here lately. Been working on getting my other house ready to sell. I will be putting up alot of pictures and videos in the next couple of weeks of the wheeling trips we did last summer and winter. No real updates on the truck either. Still need to get the fuel pump replaced. I do however have something "large" in the works for the front end:D. A somewhat free Dana 60 to get me by till I build a 14b steering axle should help!

Why go through the work of building a front 14bff if you have a Dana 60?

Martin

Just something to b different. I also like the idea of a front pinion guard :D.
The double bearing pinion and 1.5 thick axle tubes also kinda give me a chubby.

I guess it just seems like a lot of work. Other than stock 30 spline outers, I haven't had much trouble with my Dana 60's.

It's going to be some work. But when I'm done you'll see what I'm going for. I got access to abunch of super 60's for little to nothing, so I figured to be different I would go with something not a lot of people have. The super 60's also have 35 spline factory outers and larger 1550 u-joints, so married up to the 14b center section, I feel it's the best of both worlds. Plus easy install for gear changes, and the shaved 14b's have a little more clearance than the stock 60's. I'm not aginst using a Dana 60, I just like to be different. Plus when I get the 60 in, I may never actually get around to it. :haha:
