'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
See, I just don't know how to go about doing it without completely redoing my setup. And if I'm going to go the length of cutting and welding new linkage and stuff, I might as well just mount and orbital and be done.

A while back there was some casual talk with @cybrfire about a bracket to move the steering box forward on the frame.

Is there any way to put the tie rod behind the axle? I've seen similar setups on toyotas but never really looked at them.

Couldn't that be done with a weld on steering box brace? Use the brace as a pattern to form the contour farther forward on the frame? I can vsiualize what I'm trying to say just having a hell of a time putting it into words.

I don't see the benefits of spending all that money on new steering arms when the orbital would essentially be free. You gotta remember. I'm cheap.

It's making more sense the longer you talk about it. ;)

I assume that your current ram will be sufficient, that you'd just be changing out the valving and discarding the linkage?
