'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
It will be good reading for someone later tonight... That,... you know.... wanted to see an actual update....

Who are you kidding? The most offroading this thread has seen lately has been driving over a sprinkler. Without even moving.

Get back on it, Greg! Umm...whichever one of you is RealGreg.

:sign6:

Geez I go back to work for a few hrs and there's like 5 more pages of this crap I missed. Sorry about your thread Greg.

Pulled the rest of the tires off today, and mounted the vulcanized tire back on the wheel. Decided to mount the 36" rollers while I get the new 24 bolt H1's ready for use. Was airing up the rollers, and before I got to the rear ones to seat the beads, my air compressor caught on fire. Quickly put it out, so no damage. But I do believe my electric motor is locked up. I'll have to look into it more tomorrow.

I leave at noon tomorrow to go trade off my wheels and tires for a set of 42's on wagon wheels. Now before anyone gets excited, I am not running the 42's. I do not have the right gears, nor do I really want to go that big. But I couldn't pass on the deal. So my brother is going to take the 42's and I am going to run his 39.5 tsl's. since he is getting the better deal, he is going to include the pvc inserts too.

Here are the flat tires that will be suspended this way until I can fix my compressor.

Last view before they head to their new owner tomorrow.

The trade.

It's just to expensive to keep tires on a 6.5 turbo. All that bewst just boils them off.

Looks awesome btw. I really want some 24 bolts.

5 hours and 360 miles later we did the deal. I didn't take a picture of the new tires cause well, they aren't mine. Felt weird trading my set up for another one, then dropping those ones off at my brothers house. The tires looked pretty good. They will work good for a few years for him.

Next weekend we are going to do some tire swapping and I'll bring my set up home.

Haha, thanks.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the 24 bolts. Thicker wheel surface materials. Better clamping force on the bead. And less prone to leaking air.

These go together next week hopefully.
