'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
Ran to the local AN fitting store (really it’s a belt and hose store, but they carry AN fittings too) and picked up a new fitting for the TB and an extra 45* elbow for some mock up. Been using this long section of rubber line to find good routes. I like the way this is going to work out. Now just to get some heat shield and start laying it down for real.

Looking at this picture, your distributor/firing order is jacked up.

Trying to count out the firing order, I think this is what he has. One would think as long as you have number one wire lined up with the rotor it would work, but I have found that is not always the case. I think there are certain combinations where the pickup coil is out of phase with the rotor.

Should be like this.

With HEI, cap should sit this way.

Not this or any other way.

Maybe you already know this, but the picture I saw doesn’t look right.

Now that I go back and look I agree, the distributor housing looks to be off.

My recommendation, pull the distributor, find TDC and drop it back in right like @Fastereddie has shown above in the pics.
You are both 100% right. And I just had the same realization while pooping.

This is 100% it. It's trying to fire on #1 while the rotor is on 5 or 7. I shall be fixing tonight. Thanks for the help!!!

So I swapped all my plug wires around last night, but unfortunately the last time I swapped the dizzy 180* thinking it was backwards, well it wasn't. Tried to fire it last night and it is 180* out. So I'll pull it for hopefully the last time tonight and fire it up.
