This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.

I'd say $150 is good for a complete exhaust. He would pay more than that to get exhaust built at a shop. I always sell stuff cheap if I don't have a need for it.
Well, I told the guy $200 and was prepared to take $150. He didn't even hesitate to say sold. Haha.
So looks like i'll be ordering some new parts tonight.

Just ordered oil pump, oil pan, timing cover, and DIY4x motor mounts.

Out of curiosity, why did you buy mounts from DIY4X, if you are planning on a crossmember from ORD? If I remember correctly, ORD gives a discount if you buy the package.
Not particular reason. The black powdercoating is nice. And I'm not quite funded enough yet for the x-member. I suppose I could have waited, but a little too late now.
FWIW the ORD BBC crossmember works fine with DIY4X engine mounts, I run the same combo.
Good to know. I figured that both made them well enough to work together, but actual experience is good!
I just don't even know if I could spend the time or money to install that knowing that it was that cheap.
I do have a turbo core from a cat 3412 that might need to find a new home if it's rebuild able.

Crazy thing is they aren't horrible. My buddy has those or close to it on his stroker ls3. It made 1200hp on the engine Dyno with the wick turned up on a set a twins.
He turned it down to 1,000hp to put in his '77 2wd blazer. I told him to join over here but he's not one for the internet. But he's alot for bragging so it doesn't make sense.
Sounds like you have seen the aftermath of a turbo blowing chunks into an engine as well. I saw one blow enough shrapnel that it made it through the intercooler and into cylinders.

I've seen that happen on quality Garrett and borg warner turbos on basically stock diesels. Once you start hot rodding shit it's always a risk.
Yeah, I hear ya. This was on a stock POS Freightliner. $5K for that turbo.
If your buddy has good luck in the long run, that would be great feedback.

Last I talked to him the ls3 was in the truck but not running. Been like that for 2 years and honestly I'm surprised he hasn't lost interest and sold it. He has project add. anyway let's get back to convincing Greg that he needs to be the first 8.1 turbo swap on ck5
