'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
Careful, as I learned with my crew cab, there are frame differences between the C and K trucks. For one the frame flange on the C truck was wider. At least compared to my buddy's 79 K30.
I have a grinder! I'm in no hurry to swap them out either so by the time I get to it I might end up going with headers.

Does anyone know of any companies that are selling a wiring harness from the firewall out? I can't seem to find anything. I've checked Painless, LMC, American Auto Wire, and none of them seem to offer from the bulkhead out. I have enough stuff messed up that I kind of just want a fresh start, then trim from there what I don't use.

Are you looking for the engine harness or the headlight harness? They are two different ones. I can find them for early '80s non-tbi engines. If you just need the basic stuff you might have to go that route but I don't know if they all plug in the same at the firewall.

There's a guy I found on another older forum post about harnesses that led me to a Facebook page called Harness Worx. Might check him out a little.

This is my current bulkhead. The engine wiring side is partially melted and has wiring nuts. The headlight side seems fine.

Sold the old 350 from the Jimmy today. He’s picking it up on Saturday. More parts money.

Eventually I’m going to have to get back to work and put these gathered parts on the truck.
If you look at that picture just right it looks like the start of a badass buggy build. :D

Got the old 350 off the stand and ready for pick up tomorrow. Also got my work space back in front of the Jimmy. Did a small amount of fab work making a block off plate for the EGR. Noting super notable, but the first time in 2 months any power tools have been used. Going to start spending at least 30 minutes in the garage every night to start chipping away at this thing.

Peace out Girl Scout!

That 30 minutes a night should be really helpful in getting it moving for next summer. Keep it up man!
My buddy is doing a full buggy build at the moment too, and we are both shooting for a late spring run to Tuttle Creek. So the plan is to hear some vroom vroom noises in the next month or so, and then on to the other upgrades that are planned.
