Hey that does look great. :waytogo: Your mount was the one of the setups I used for inspiration to get mine mounted up and of the way. It's going to be nice for it to not be rattling around and/or frozen into a useless lump back there next time I need to use it.

Any problems with those wing nuts rattling loose? I'll go check out DIY4X's website, appreciate the tip.

I was afraid they would rattle loose however they haven't yet.

Yeah that’s wasted space. I only put mine under the tool box to keep it out of the weather

My 9 yr old wingman was upset that i took up his favorite seating space with that jack, He'll be really pissed when i get the shovel and axe mounted on the other side.

On another note, I like all the R/D on the front bumper build. I'm not tech savvy enough to figure out all the programs to design my own like that. I just get the plasma, cardboard, duct tape and figure it out...LOL

Yours will get done faster and probably be better anyways. I enjoy the planning/designing phase as much as the building of it, so I make more out of it than I need to I suppose. Also planning/designing only costs me a little time, I can afford a lot more of that than new parts and actual building.

You are also correct that wrenching outside in the snow sucks...

I wish we had your winters!

View out my office window right now. This is as close to a California winter as I've ever seen in SE Idaho, We only have snow in the shade here right now.

Nice view! Ours is more like South Park! :haha:

It was 55* up here in Boise yesterday...pretty freaking mild this year

Crazy, were supposed to be in the high 40's all week. Very unusual.

On another note @Kay86K5 tell me about this shifter mount for this NV4500 to NP205

I was thinking about maybe going with a ORD twin stick for my swap, but I'm interested in other options. especially if it saves me $.

That goldish shifter mount is Advance Adapters shifter mount. At the time I bought mine (2016) AA didn't have a "kit" to fit the 85-91 long 32 spline 6 bolt round NP205 to an NV4500. But you could buy the adapter/spacer and that shifter mount you see separate. So that's what I did. That bracket bolts to the NV4500 and allows you to keep the factory t-case shifter in the factory location. Now AA sells them both in a little kit (found here: http://www.advanceadapters.com/products/50-6911--gm-nv4500-4wd-to-gm-np205-circular-6-bolt-pattern/).

There were two things I didn't like about the bracket. 1st is most know 205's are usually pretty difficult to shift and after bolting everything up, I was pretty sure that bracket was going to bend if I put a lot of force on the shifter to shift the t-case (when I read of other guys on the web that had used this...most everyone said the same thing...and many had theirs bend on them). Just a few weeks ago, I braced mine up a little bit with some scrap metal and about 10 min of my time. I'm confident now that it won't bend. If I remember when I get home tonight, I'll take pic for you of how I braced it up. 2nd, what AA doesn't make mention of is that even after using this shifter bracket, the stock "linkage" that comes off the shift rail to attach to the shifter will not fit. So I called up JB Fab and got one of his adjustable shift linkages and it worked like a charm (you can see that in the pic above as well, the one with two little heims on either end).

In the end though, I'm still happy I went with the AA shifter instead of twin sticking. For the use of my truck, twin stick is not needed at all, and it would have cost more money to do the twin stick. But that's for my uses. I know you "wheel" yours a little bit more so the twin stick option may be easier in the end for you.

In this poc you can see the bracing I added to that shifter bracket. Just goes down to another bolt off the NV4500. Not the best pic, but you get the idea

That gives me a very good view of what you did. Thanks for sharing. I'm still undecided which way Ill go but I think I'll probably twin stick it. I'm going to look into the AA bracket though.

I wonder if the ORD twin stick would minimize the mods required on the NV4500 tail housing?
