86 K30 - Sarge - strong box doubler and triple stick shifter

Hmm, you might have to do some work to regain some of the "flex" you lost  :waytogo:

If a trip pans out, I've got that 35" spare for you too :D

HAHA that was a low blow... Thanks man! It may not happen though because I'll be a week into my last trimester of school

Absolutely awesome truck! I LOVE IT. Going to be borrowing ideas left and right for my K10 build.

Any detailed shots of how you mounted the blazer tank? Is the bed welded directly to the frame? How much did you shorten the frame?

I'll say it again - I LOVE YOUR TRUCK!

Sweet I figured out how to post pics from my phone finally :), so here are a few of the tank mounts pics for you. It is mounted to the bed itself, by the factory straps that attach to brackets I made from left over square tube. It sits between and against two 3/16's 3 or 4" wide pieces of brake bent plate. It sits approx 4-5" higher then it would in a K5, instead of the tank middle seam sitting against the bottom of the lower frame rail mine sits on the bottom of the upper frame rail.

On the frame shortening, I took ~13.5" out of the middle, and around 4" off the back end. My wheelbase ended up right around a stock SWB, well less then that because my front axle is forward about 4.5" (which I plan to adjust back 1.5" )

Im trying this my my phone sooooo

I love this rig by the way. Pretty much what I invision my truck to look like someday. :waytogo:

Don't you dare lose your box sides!

Martin

lol I knew you'd have an opinion on this.

My bed is getting beat to **** really fast. I think one of these "trail beds" would best suit me. That is unless I can find a good deal on a decent short box.

The more I look at this rig, I just want it! :haha:

Any updates on this thing by the way?

Thanks for the compliments

As much as I love the look of a factory square body bed (your rig is one of my favorites, best calendar cover shot ever :waytogo:) the trail bed really works great for it's intended use. Wheeling on tighter trails or just in trees in general it rocks. When making a tight turn between trees I more or less get the cab past then just cut it hard and let the bed rub the tree, give it some skinny pedal and the truck just pivots around :D

As far as updates .....nothing right now, I've got a few sticks of DOM at the shop, and hope to pick up a winch in the near future. Lately I've been focusing on my dads Willys wagon, but hopefully I'll find some time to give the 30 some love :D

Thanks! I am looking forward to some more wheeling pics of this beast :waytogo:

I'm hoping to find the time to take it wheeling to get more pics :doah: :D

If nothing else, it's always Jacobs vehicle of choice to run errands in :pimp: everywhere we go he's always pointing out random people checking it out. Jacob- "Dad, look, those kids are looking at Sarg (his name for the rig), Dad, look that guy is checking us out too !".

With any luck, I would like to get the cage done in the cab, finish up the H1's, do some more tube on the bed, a spare tire swing out deal, and if the money is there maybe a new set of shoes in the 40" variety, fingers crossed smiley :D

Josh, Mines almost together to head out wheelin so get yours done! Brandon's new jeep is still together so we are planning a run in march.

Sweet :waytogo: you need to post some pics

March should be work, mine is wheel able currently, but hopefully it will be well into phase 2 by then :D

We took it out this weekend on the highway and it was pretty much vibe free....We hit 71mph(GPS)and all seemed good. I need to get the speedo working so Overdrive will kick in. I picked up some 38.5 Radial Pitbulls from a member here. Built some spring packs(mostly the same packs that were under brandons chevy). The frame has been shortened down to SWB. Still got alot of fab work and paint to do, but all the major driveability stuff is done. I just need to start driving it.
