'87 Chevy truck build. "Immortal"

shouldn't be a problem keep it high and tight... maybe build a heatshield... hot air in the tank rushing through a hose will create moisture.. not good for tools, or whatever

I did some testing on my OBA setup, which I haven't got the tank on for yet. :doah:

It filled up a 31" tire from flat pretty quickly, and it was just at idle, bump it up a few hundred RPM and that thing really pushed some air.

I noticed however, that my belt wasn't quite as tight as it should have been, and I couldn't tighten it any.

So, off to the parts store to exchange my pulley for a bigger one.

Old.

Tightens up just right now.

Also replaced a vacuum hose that went to the vac res. It was leaking and causing my truck to stumble when coming to a stop.

I'm leaving it on for now, I'm watching the mount for structural integrity.

Once it proves structurally sound, then I will make it perty.

So far so good, but I'm not sure if there's any flex in it.

Still need to find a good place for that grounding strap too. Currently just sitting there.

Edit: Thought I would add what I did for an air filter.

Couldn't find a valve cover breather filter that fit, so I went and looked at the small engine stuff.

I found a tecumseh canister filter, and threaded it on an elbow I had for the intake of the compressor.

Then I shoved a rubber cork into the opening on the other end. Voila! Air filter.

Cost about $4.

If you cut the mount above the bolts that the york is bolted to it should not effect the strength in any way. I would just connect the ground to one of the mounting bolts.
