87' GMC Custom Crew Cab Short Bed CUMMINS!

Well said Larry. This site is easily the best site for people into trucks like ours. As you said, like minded. Not just into our kind of trucks, but people that share a similar mindset and outlook on life. We're glad to have the both of you over here!

I really appreciate you sharing your story, and the support you have shown both for this site and my build thread.

I'm not really sure what starts people into trash talking each other when these types of sites are developed to bring like minded people together? What ever it is guidance not law enforcement typically resolves the issue and we can all move on to the brighter picture, we all love GM trucks!

People are so quick to throw out their words with out consideration to their impact on the receiving end. I will admit that my response to the moderator on the 67 site was a bit hostile and for that I am wrong. Regardless of his power trip approach I could have been the bigger man and responded with dignity and control. Truth be told I was pissed off, and felt that my years of monetary support for the 67 site were ill spent when for a single moment of inquiry to fellow 67 members to help track down a hard to find part in order to continue an over 50,000 viewed build thread was received by a threat from a 67 moderator that should I continue my inquiry I would be temporarily banned... Yep... Moving on...

People will respond to treatment. Treat people poorly and they will find better use of their time where their investment is appreciated not expected...

I started an OYMC Facebook page and I welcome you all to check it out and send your friend requests. http://www.facebook.com/OnYourMarxCustoms

Wow, I just now stumbled across this build. Nice work.

Martin

Thank you Martin... Glad you found it:) Building this truck is a lot of fun, and hearing everyone's feed back makes it all the more meaningful!

Just wanted to give a quick update.. My Atlas transfer case is officially being built after months of waiting... The case should arrive around the beginning of the week after next!

I have been really busy finishing up a customers 1970 FJ40 Land Cruiser these last three weeks but will be making room for the crew cab as soon as it is picked up on Sunday. My hope is to have this crew cab on the road by December to get a Christmas Tree... This coming summer I plan to tear the whole thing back down for powder coating and paint!

Congrats on the T case finally coming along. It's hard to save for one of those, they ain't cheap. And Larry, like was said...very well said. :waytogo:

T Case is here and installed

Oh yeah! man what a piece of art this transfer case is! a few minor mods and it bolted right up to the G56 6 speed transmission... I had to cut out my floor to make room but I think I am going to cut most of it back out and redo the whole thing out of 14 gauge rather than 18 gauge sheet metal... Piece by piece it is only a matter of time!

This transfer case is a 3:1 gear reduction. It gives you the option to run Front axle only in high or low range, rear axle only in high or low range, and 4 wheel in high or low range. You can set the case in neutral as well if the truck for some God for saken reason needs to be towed...

That's a nice piece of equipment right there. Are they built well enough to handle the torque of that diesel?

Any updates on this? Really enjoyed the fab work going into it. Hope to see some more.

Thank you CK5 family for your continued interest in my build. Today I plan to set up the rear axle spring perches. There is a list of "To-do's" that I plan to start marking off 1-2 days per week until it is done. I have been super busy building a $1XX,XXX diesel toyota land cruiser for a guy that after completing 2/3 of the build and about $20-$30 thousand short of completion we end up in a dispute which has dragged on for about 2 months now... In a nut shell he has reached his max budget (Understandable) and expects me to finish the cruiser for a quoted completion cost which cuts out nearly $10,000 of my labor billing (Not reasonable)...

Anyway, I had planned to take 2 months off this summer to finish the crew cab, but I ended up taking on another land cruiser job. This job is freaking awesome! The plan is to install a brand new turn key 4.5L Cummins Diesel, NV4500 5 speed, toyota land cruiser transfer case, and a bunch of other very cool mods...
I couldn't say no...

Dodge hydro boost brake system / Dodge hydraulic clutch master cylinder to Chevy Pedal assembly

I just had to ask, why did you "reinvent the wheel". You couldn't find lines that goes to dodge power steering pump to chevy hydro-boost?

I just had to ask, why did you "reinvent the wheel". You couldn't find lines that goes to dodge power steering pump to chevy hydro-boost?

That is a great question...
1) the GM hydro boost brake booster is valved for front disc and rear drum brakes: High pressure low volume (Front), low pressure high volume (rear).
Because I am running a 2005 Corp 14 disc brake rear end in my 87' crew cab which the 2007 Dodge pickup I pulled the drive train from was also a 4 wheel disc brake setup, the valving will work perfectly for my application.

2) Plumbing: The hydraulic lines are already made for the Dodge cummins power steering pump to hydro boost brake booster to power steering box so why spend an extra $60 in high pressure lines if I don't have to?

3) Electronics: There is a sensor in the hydro boost from the 2007 Dodge which plugs into the ECU. I am assuming it is a low brake fluid sensor but what ever it is, if it belongs to the ECU it should be there...

So that is why I decided to use the Dodge hydro boost over buying a new one for the proper 4 wheel disc valving or having to purchase extra parts for the old GM unit like a proportioning valve or hydaulic lines..
