87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

scratch all that... I'm just gonna re-engineer the rad support...

I've got a plan... :wink1:

hopefully it's not toooooo labor intensive...... :wink1:

I'll just be replacing the 2 big flat areas on either side of the rad support.... from the boxed in area at the mount over to where it attaches at the fender....

basically a clean slate for my headlight, turn signal and cooler mounting... it will also allow me to route hose how I want with the holes I need, etc for all the coolers/filters I'm running up front...

also gets rid of the "tophat" holes... this early 80's clip actually had 2 tophats installed... no need cuz I'm going to the functioning cowl induction/airbox setup....

thanks..... :D in reality, my truck is usually pretty tame as far as pushing me... work is what slaughters me... it's a pretty physically abusive existence.. :(

I can catch myself here at the house, "hey, don't do that, it'll bother your hand".... where at work, you have no choice....

i really wish I was getting the temp layoff for the winter, I could use it to heal... tho i'm off till the 4th now... so i can get in some casual heal, pound the rig time... :wink1:

and yup, if ya thought the fender was decent surgery, wait till ya see the rad support... :haha:

Subscribed. All I can say is WOW! Now I can get back to doing normal things like eating after spending the last 4 days reading through this entire thread. It's currently 199 pages of "I'm way over my head here" for me. Ryoken you do amazing work and I can't wait to see the finished product. Please take care of yourself first and the truck will be done in no time. I work as an RN in the heart tower at my hospital involving mostly open heart patients so I know of your concerns. Definitely continue with your meds. :wink1: Well I'm here along with many others waiting in anticipation for the next installment. Thanks for doing this build thread so us mere mortals have something to drool over.

As usual, all I can say looking at your build is... WOW! Awesome work bro! I just now saw all the fender cutting/reshaping work you've done, looks great! Best fender sectioning job I've seen! Again, very nice build! I can't wait for the next update! :waytogo:

Whenever I get around to working on mine, I am gonna hafta look back through your rocker work, that's the exact setup I want to go with! :thumb:

Just read about the health problems you've been havin- hope ya get doin better bro! Make sure ya take it easy and stay away from the bad stuff!

I just noticed your headlight idea. Your original thought was what i was gonna do with my Blazer a few years ago but never got around to it before I sold it. I wanted something differnt but couldn't make it a way that i liked though.

I love this rig :D

thanks guys...

I'm definitely mounting my lights like that Randy.... question at this point is, should i just get an 89 to 91 rad support as opposed to reworking my junk.... but i'm leary of the replacement ones...

so at this point, it's been bumped down the priority list... gonna do it, just gonna wait a bit and see if I can source a GM one... in the meantime, I've got TONS of other stuff to do...

Well the 89-91 have those beady little lights where i would go for the fullsize look just to be different. That's why i said i couldn't come up with anything that looked right . Everything looks odd when you're used to seeing it a certain way
