87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

Coming out amazing!

I hope you already have your next project planned cause you will have idle hands before too long:waytogo:

alrighty... normally i would wait till i have it fully de-masked, etc, but i'll throw up a couple quickie shots to show how it's looking... color contrast, etc... I'll take better, more detailed shots in a couple days..

gonna take me hrs to finish de-masking it...... :doah: but I'm pretty wrecked, need food and sleep bad... :1zhelp::what::confused::haha:

came out pretty good, seems to be flattening out more and more as it dries... gonna rehit a couple spots, when I shoot the underside of the hood, rad support, etc... but overall i'm pleased... the ceiling came out nice, which was my biggest concern...

WOW!!!!!!!! thats amazing!!! looks so great! I cannot wait till next year when this things outside! haha

Was there a change in the step area or did I miss something ? I noticed the paint line being straight out at the bottom of the door opening prior to black, and now its further up the door frame. Im sure it has something to do with shooting for a smoother transition between colors ?

Looks great, man - Keep it coming  (After a 5 minute power nap, of course)

eh, life stuff to contend with before sleep.. dinner, laundry, yada, yada... :haha:

the angle was always the intention.... to come right from the lower edge of the weatherstrip edge, down to the corner of the qrter.. i just felt it would look better than a squared off black sill... tho looking at it now, that would have looked fine too..

Hmmm its look so pretty and shiny but what gonna happen when its done and I come by to drag your ass out to Colliers Mills and that poor truck gets hurt??? :thumb:

Hmm....With all the beef - It's gonna take one hella machine to unstick you - If you ever get stuck that is.....:D

Was only curious of the door step - Looks good either or. Looks great now that its on to the next stage......

thanks guys!

well, while down doing the laundry I was looking over the rig and decided to herculine the floor now while it's still taped up... so i'll be working on that over the next couple days.. might as well get it done now while everything is accessible...

hopefully my hood will be in by the end of week and i can get going on that next weekend... I'll also be starting to install some components, battery box, bulkheads, steering box and brace, springs, etc....

sleepytime! :haha:

Dang, I wish I could paint worth a darn. I can't even do a decent rattle can job - runs and spotty coverage everywhere. I just don't have the patience for that kind of stuff.

It is amazing to see what is possible in a regular ol' garage with the right tools, gigahours of hard work, serious attention to detail, and yes, patience.

Hey ryoken, you know that herculiner can be painted over. I did it on the top of my side steps and the tops of my rocker panels. They look real good and has lasted over 4+ years. I wouldn't stab it with a screw driver but its held up very well. It gives like a non-skid kind of look.

sweet... i'll keep it in mind..... gonna prep it tonight.... roll a gallon on it tomorrow hopefully....

lunatic got me going now.... looking at the photos, i'm starting to think the sills would have looked better with thye black coming straight down to the rocker from the weatherstrip point, then a black slider... no big, not overly concerned as i'll be running doors, and i can always change it down the road...

oh, the dungeon looks like a freakin bomb went off.... what a freakin disaster......

well, couldn't resist dorking around early this morn and threw some parts in to see how the final look will be... I'm happy with the decision to put copper on the lower tin... i like the way it carry's up and around next to the LCD panel..

unfortunately the LCD panel needs to be reshot, dried funky and missed the left edge..... I'll have to rehit it when i do the nose.. whereas the 2 side panels came out perfect... :doah: no big, not like i have an LCD to put in it... :doah:

the copper should help break it up well on the other side by the breaker box lexan door too....

enough playing around, gotta go prep for Herc... :doah:

Your going with herculiner? I thought you mite know a better liner, Im not that impressed with it, scrapes up knees and now its peeling because the truck is sitting and some water was on the floorboard. Apparently if water sits on it for a while it peels the liner up.
