You've got so much one-off stuff going on in your interior and under the hood. I can't wait to see it all come together. When you get the engine compartment a little closer to finished it should go up for a GMOTM for sure. Would it be the first engine compartment GMOTM shot? It would as far as I know. That would be sweet.

as always, thanks for the kind words Kristie.... :D

Was wondering if you where on vacay or something, hadn't seen ya post in a bit..

It'll be awhile before the engine compartment is done done.. I'll be doing a stroker for it at some point, but the stocker runs SO good at this point, it'll be a couple years off...

Thankfully the driverside wont be nearly as involved, just going with a york setup on that side...

It's all money... Still battling to get the coin up for running gear.. maybe once the suspension is done, GMOTM would be fun... Hey, maybe by then it'll actually be all one color!

So, to update the status, the shroud is ready for primer, I'll get some shots up later...

But I'll throw a little lounge-type material in here that may, or may not effect my progress... Apparently I've been working the last 3 weeks with a fractured elbow... :doah:

I had smacked it on a genny with a brutal funnybone shot.. Knew I had done something moderately bad, figured a bone chip or something along those lines... The really bad swelling went down with ice after a couple days, but I've had a golfball size lump there ever since... works ok, but boy you touch it on something, and it rocks ya..

Anyway, looks like I may be on workmans comp for a bit. I'll find out tuesday at the ortho.. The guy today sucked out about 10 cc's of blood, and thought it was just the bursa swollen, till he saw the x-rays...

Hey, I still got my good arm to spray... Wonder what the doc'll think when sees overspray on the sling.. :eek1: :doah: :haha:

That aint no joke ! ! !
:haha: :haha:

Oh yeah, trust me, I'll be doing anything on the truck I can...

If they decide to have me home for a month, you can bet the farm that I'll be doing my big floor project even if I'm in a cast and sling....

I once had to do that years ago... I was right in the middle of a resto on the side on a dudes VW beetle.. Was halfway done when I broke my good hand skating pools... Had to finish the gig with my offhand... painting the car wasn't bad. But the full wetsand prep was torture.. :doah: :haha:

Man that hurts. Hope you get better, and at the same time, kind of glad it happened so you have a little extra time to devote to the project. Keep up the great work.

It's nothing new, I'm used to being battered... :doah: :haha:

Thanks for the wellwishes guys... :D

On to more important things! :woot:

Looking good ryoken. That should really give great airflow. Let us know what the numbers come out being once you have it installed and wired.

Thanks mang....

I'm such an a$$hat..... Forgot to put flattening agent in my Imron.... :doah:

So I'm gonna wetsand it out today and overcoat it with a satin version... :o

I'm very pleased with how it turned out structurally... Should cool like a mofo.. :saweet:

Did you use composite to make this? That seems to be your material of choice.:D

Anywho, make sure you`re fully awake before you paint again.:deal: :D

Yup, same construction as the other stuff... tho I'm really looking forward to some straight-forward mechanical stuff in the ways of running gear... But it's looking like the pile of steel on my floor, and empty wallet are dictating that i do my floor/slider project next... It'll be nice to do some welding again, as opposed to grinding glass.. had fun on the battery box, so fabbing up a floor and sliders should be fun........ and dirty! :woot: :weld: :grind: :saweet:

I can't believe how stable and strong the shroud is... I'd guess it weighs about 5 lbs.. amazing stuff, the ultimate in fiberglass... I just find myself going to it on many projects... Can't wait to do rear bedside panels and speaker stuff out of it.... I can't advocate the product enough... Apparently, cuz it's been at the cornerstone of many of my projects..

I'm sure I'll think of something interesting for ya... :wink1:

:D :D :wink1:

What`s the cost of that material? Figuring maybe I should just get some for the rear wall, and maybe for bedside panels, as well...

thanks again for the hookup Ben..

pm sent..... but for those reading this curious about the cost of the composite...

it gets pricey... i have a good hookup tho, my local distributor gives me killer deals on partials, scraps, etc..

it comes in just about every structural shape you can imagine.. angle, tube, square, etc... and the flat sheets come in 4' x 8' sheets.. running from 1/8" thru 1' and up...

a sheet of 3/16", which is what I have been using on most of these projects, runs in $150 to $200 range...

so that shroud is probably about $50 to $75 in materials with all the angle braces and epoxy...
