Note to self tape is > then welding

Note to self, wire brushes can double as spacer blocks!
Yeah, the smitty-bilt cage is 2" as well. No wonder you had trouble to source DOM, hardly anyone carries it in 2".
Lookin real nice though! Alot of work, isn't it!

definitely a time consuming process... fit, measure, shift, remeasure, cut, trim, fit measure, trim, rinse, repeat...

Awesome Paul! Un like me, I'm motivated to do.......nothing!thank ya sir.....
it's hard not too get ahead of yourself... ya get all psyched cuz ya figured out the next plan of attack, but ya need to finish the task your doing...
I'm all motivated to get to the floor and cage flanges now, so I finish the lower cage 1/2... but I still need to do a few things before I get to the floor.. probably be 2 weeks finishing up the upper cage stuff, wire chase, ceiling, etc... eh, I can't order cage flanges till next week anyway...
I even tried to work on the rig on Monday, messed with the fans like 5 minutes and I was already getting pissed off
The thing that pisses me off more, is that when you look the rig, you can clearly see there's not much left to do to get it rolling

Looking awesome! Keep it up. Can't wait to see it emerge under its own power, I mean POWER!
Lookin' sharp!
How many tries did it take to get that multi-axis bend figured out for the a-pillar??
I hate wasting tube, but I just have this feeling that there are going to be some "development costs" associated with trying to get those exactly the way I want them (through the dash, snug to the a-pillar...and exiting perfectly level toward the back of the truck).
I've got Bend-Tech Pro, but I haven't spend enough time with it to understand how to put in dimensional contraints and have it figure out the angles and lengths of each bend.

I had to reload both of em a couple times to add a few degrees here and there... I'd say each one averaged about 3 hrs to cut, bend, fit, etc... BUT I did nail em in the end with no waste... I'm pretty confident I can use all the tube up with no "bad bends".. Note to self, wire brushes can double as spacer blocks!
I noticed that too and busted out laughing when i read your comment

Damnit Ben if you dont get your ass in gear and have the truck running by the time I leave for the summer, I will be very pissed. The engine is probably siezed by now.
Yeah yeah yeah...I do however plan on working on this pig this weekend if the rain ever stopssee for me it's the other end... I have the vision in my head, know the amount of hrs I have to put in to achieve what I want, wake up from fainting, and resolve myself to needing to pound endless hrs on it.....
psssst, go outside!![]()
