87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

I've been banging doors on that damn thing for yrs! :doah::wink1:

I'd probably have the truck at a 45 angle in both bays if that wasn't there... :haha:

hats off to your clean, organized setup... my place really is a functional dungeon.. :o

It's funny, i have a good friend who has the cleanest, hang-out garage.. bar, big flatscreen, fridge, nice speckled floor, dart board, etc... of course, no work is done in it.... ;)

it's soooooooo the opposite of mine! :haha:

mine is constantly filled with grinding dust, overspray, etc... function over form... Tho I did set up the killer stereo/speaker setup this weekend... now I'm cranking good tunes...

what I really need to do is, the lighting.. need to knuckle under and go get a couple 8'er's...

hmmm, can't say I've noticed the "daylights"....

cool, i'll pick some up next time I'm at Homo Depot... probably pick up another 8'er too...

thanks guys!

trying to be diligent and pound some hours.... that was a pretty full weekend... I was just down there the last hour burning all that in....:haha:

need to stop at my welder buds place tues night and pick up a hunk of 2 x 4 for the other slider and some more angle... I'd like to have the driverside that far next weekend...

muchos gracias.......

one thing I'd like to mention, and hopefully is noticable, is that, for as extensive as I may seem to go, or as long as it may "seem" to take me, I do my best to make "construction and design" as simple, strong and bulletproof as possible on EVERYTHING i fab..

straight lines, minimum cuts and pieces, the way the floor and cab supports are attached to each other, water/mud infiltration, fabrication ease, yada, yada... it's the simplest, fastest, strongest way i can approach it, at least imo... :haha: i want things the way i want them.....;)

picked up steel tonight...... :saweet:

somewhat like yours...

it will have a 1" lip around the top with welded nuts on the back for a removable top section.... the tunnel "angle" walls will be started off the angle sections of the back cab support bridge.. same as the floor is on the flats...

with the cage seat bars, clocked transfer case and driveline e-brake, i'm going for as much under cab space as possible... one reason being i don't have the clocking ring or e-brake yet, so i'm really guessing/airing on the safe side..

in other words, i'm tucking the tunnel RIGHT under the seat bars and going all the way to the passenger rail to account for that... i don't need the cab floor space really, and i will appreciate it down below... I want/need/desire/must have, a flat belly pan mounted flush with the bottom of the frame... :wink1:

Thats what I did, 1" flange and nuts welded on the back. I left room for a doubler later. Since I've added a 1" body lift and there is lots of room under the floor.

I am liking it Paul. Lots of really stout work in there. Now just to get it done and then get you over here to run Moab for the Bash.

I definitely wouldn't have an issue fitting a doubler.... :wink1: basically, the floor piece you see in there on the passenger side shows the outline of that side of the tunnel... pretty much following the rail under the seat and going out a tad past...

my removable top will run from right in front of the rear seat rails to about 10"s shy of the firewall.... I really, really wish I had a brake.... someday....

what thickness did you run? and is the dp mounted directly to the factory stamped cab support?
