thanks man....
ah, the Herc.... I've definitely had misgivings since I bought a gal last year... my original plan was to buy another gal and the UV protectant qrt... then do a real nice thick application, like you get with Rhino or Line-X....
the whole floor will be zinc/filler/Imroned first, no matter what... same as the under carriage.. no matter what liner I run, I feel a proper paint system under it will yeild the most durable results..
what I was gonna do with the Herc is this.. control the grit to thickness ratio by running one gallon thru a paint strainer to remove the nonskid... that way I can put the last couple coats on top without grit to smooth out the sandpaper effect... never done it, but I've certainly done 100's on boat nonskid jobs in similar fashion with good results..
but I have had second thoughts lately as what product to actually use.. I only paid $50 for the Herc... now all these other liners have come out.. the Al's, that Lizardskin stuff... the idea of bringing in Line-X doesn't appeal to me on the financial end..
I'm not worried about the chalking too much... the whole back bed, and flat sections up front will have bedmat over the top... but I would like it to wash clean once I pull the mats...
I'd like the best product, but don't wanna pay a fortune either...
