unless of course I decide to trade the rig for a badarse pumpkin chunker before then..... :haha:

nice radio. i got a fiberglass question for you what do you use when your molding the custom parts like you make for your rig?

well, with this rig, I'm not doing any mold work... with that new construction method I came up with using angles bedded into corners with the composite glass, I haven't needed/desired to do any mold design stuff.. been going more for that "flatpanel, stealth fighter" kinda style...

that being said, I've been doing mold work for 25+ yrs in the marine biz, etc.... I started doing that back in the 80's, when I was restoing cement mixers... we'd buy crashed Mack noses and I'd make molds for the smashed sections with expanding foam, shape it, etc... I've used everything from cardboard to wood to fabric to foam to garbage bags, yada, yada.... :haha:

too bad I never got off my lazy arse and finished the dash bezel mold... one day... :o

anything you need to know, just ask.. here, pm, own thread, whatever... from molds, to release agents, cloth types, methods, etc, I'm pretty "well-versed" :wink1: and I'll be glad to help if I can.... cardboard and wood are standards, but it all depends on what the piece is..

what are you trying to make?

wood is a common method... just have to make sure your using proper release agents... or you can go for the "cardboard, masking taped together gig.. then use wax paper over it, when dry, you just soak the cardboard in water and peel it out..

if it's a "one off" where you don't care about making more, the mold doesn't have to be perfect.. you can make adjustments, etc to the piece once out of the mold.... feel free to PM me if you need advice on materials, etc...

Here is your measurments... Let me know if this makes sense. Just for curiosity I measured the difference in the two headlamps. The mid 80s style is 6 1/2" by 4. The 91ish is 5 1/2 by 3 1/2. This core support is scrap so it will be blank for a while. Let me know of you need more photos or measurments.

Stuff like this is why I love CK5.....

"Hmmm....anyone know some dimensions for xyz?"

"Uh, yeah sure I'm 3000 miles away from that dude, but I'll just step outside and take a few measurements to help a brother out"

:waytogo:

:usaflag:

120 is what I run. 80 was two small and the next size up was a full size bottle.

I recommend a 150cu ft bottle. Thats what I run and its worth the savings for sure. The more you buy the cheaper it is. Great build man, keep it up.

Just finished reading through the entire thread.:doah::bow: Your work is amazing. Your detailed pics and write ups are a big help as well as motivation for the rest of us. Keep up the good work.:D:bow::bow:
