Sheesh!

Later,
Buddy

i do have one question, have you tired out your t-case break yet i was thinking of getting one i think it would be better on steeper hills and inclines if i needed to park my truck for awhile.

nope, but i'm pretty confident it'll hold a fair amount better than an eldo setup...

you should put some zerk fittings in your joints... then you could earn some uber cool kid points for having greasable knees. :D i read a story a while back where in some east Asian country, some woman was having frequent silicon injections in her lips. She ended up getting sick a few years later. It turns out the plastic surgeon was filling her lips up with automotive grade silicon grease... :yikes:

:haha:

I've been referring to my knees as "leg actuators" for years now... :wink1: knock on wood, they've been feeling pretty good the last few years... considering the amount of surgery i've had....

that scar wont compare... my left knee has over a 100 stitches in it... :doah::crazy:

tease..... the front AL skid plate is gonna be freakin bad a$$! maybe pics tonight...

note..... i've ditched the winch lever hole..... I may polish it down the road, we'll see.. I like the burnished look, but it may be easier maintenence to just polish it... it would also match the Weld rims too.. but, it is AL, so I can do whatever I want, change it, etc...

I do like the burnished look too Paul, more of a Satin/Matte look to it.
What ya doing with the engagement lever then?

I'm gonna have it come up vertical, by the oil filters that are going behind the skid...

Hood open to operate it? That might not be a bad thing.

I'm still just amazed at how good you build parts. That thing looks really cool.

nah, right behind the main tube of the bumper... in front of the rad support and grill... there's gonna be a series of 4 filters there...

thanks man, really... it does take some effort here and there... I'm so happy with the decision to do the skid in AL if I had the chance..

I'm usually one to downplay my work somewhat, but in this case, I think it makes the bumper look freakin sick.. better than any bumper I've ever seen, bought or built.. but apparently the styling is not appealing to all.. either that, or you guys are getting harder and harder to impress... :doah::haha:

I'm still impressed! Like most others have stated on here, your attention to detail is incredible. Now what about the 4 filters behind the bumper? did I miss something?

thanks! :D funny how I ran a company named "Attention to Detail" :haha:

yeah, the filters where a ways back in the thread.... i'll see about finding a mockup pic....

here's an early shot showing about where the filters will be in relation to the bumper.. tad bit higher than this...

bumpermockup003.jpg

there will be 4 of these spaced evenly behind that center section.. mounted to a bracket...

trans, power steering and 2 for engine oil...

thus, one of the reasons for the removable skidplate, to access filters...

Not sure how I missed that one, but that's a good idea. Never thought about putting them there. I know I'll be running the tranny & oil coolers along with the filters and was looking for a good spot to put them. The oil filter will probably stay in it's stock location because that's where the cooler is connected into. Really like reading this build, keep up the good work.

will do, thanks again...... taking the full 3 day weekend this weekend... gonna pound the truck.. hopefully I can get the x-member close to completion.. tho, without air tools I'm a little hampered..... eh, maybe i'll bring the portable gas one home from work...

Oh, I almost feel bad for you, then I remember I need to pull the trans this weekend and I have 0 air tools.

As always, keep it up!

hehe, remember, my priorities are a little skewed from the norm... :wink1:

and don't forget,

how long you think it's gonna take x 3 = reality :haha:

In college I had a professor named Dr. Frank who was the advisor for a project I worked on. He tended to exagerate, so we figured out that everything he said could either be multiplied or divided by four to arrive at the truth. That will forever be known as the Frank factor to me and the other kids who worked on that project.
