Does the software have the ability to run on Linux at all? if so I can't imagine it'd be A huge deal to slap an Android-compatible skin on it.

the software does not NEED to be running while the truck is running.. megasquirt is standalone.... but the software is for tuning, thus it needs to be running while tuning/tweeaking parameters, etc... like you would with a laptop....
boy, I'd love to get to the pc now, but it's gonna have to wait a bit... for now it'll be laptop tuning.... tho hopefully i'll be getting all my megasquirt stuff by x-mas...

oh, btw, one of the things i HAVE been working on is a mounting platform for the megasquirt and other related components... it was something I wanted/needed to do before i get the cab interior in paint....

holy f*ck, the sunlight readable 10.4 is $900 and has a 1500 NIT... thats stupid high brightness... other high-end units I've looked at have been 600, maybe 700 NIT...

Obviously I'm committed to running something pretty badarse...... make it a focal point of the interior..... really set the center console off....
it's all up to the coin.... as much as I'd love to order one tomorrow, "on the road matters" have bumped the PC out of the top ten priority list.... but hopefully next aug, sept I'll be surfing CK5 from the truck...

anyway.... the beginning of my storage...
here's what I'm in the process of adding now to finish it....
the blue lines are walls to section the cubby holes... the red is the facia.... forming a 3" lower lip to 3 of the 4 sections... the green are the doors.. they start 5" in from the sides to allow them to open 90, flush with the wells...

well, I did say I was building an interior with kinda a stealth fighter feel.. I was mainly talking about the floor, but in the end all the fiberglass panels have that look with the stainless hexes, sooooooooooo..........

I'm really stoked to buy my Megasquirt stuff..... it's about #3 on the priority list, hopefully by x-mas...... got an awesome mount for it and associated toys...
I'm really revved to wire this thing... console,overhead, breaker panel, etc....but it wont be till the spring some time...

I met a guy this weekend that is in the R&D and sales for the newest (not yet in use but very close) helmets with all the HUD info. and just about everything else showing in the face shield. He said something about the missile guidance bla, bla, bla and keeps all info in front of you no matter what direction you look.
You could go that route, it would take care of your head protection needs too............ The price is quite reasonable at $250K each if you order 500 of them

Yup my cousions husband is in the Air Froce and told me about a helment like that that they are using on the F35. He is a test pilot and has been working on this project for a few years now. A lot of that stuff is just unbeliveble how it works.
