'87 Suburban Build "munepit" I'm Back! Missed all you guys!

Poly mounts Jeff. You could've damaged the rubber when you jump it. I smashed my oil pan due to the bad mounts after installing the new crossmember. If the frAmes bend it also can cause the mounts to be lower. ;) good luck with it.

Jeff, I've got a bew set of diy4x poly motor mounts i never installed on my old rig, pm me if you are interested...

Are you talking cars to play on? Because the Burb is a beater for sure. I beat the chit out of her!!

Yeah, just a couple cars to run over and play on!

get em....they are so tough they held my engine up when I was mocking up my doubler crossmember....I was using a milk crate to support the trans and it buckled allowing the engine and trans to fall at the back of the trans....the engine mounts held sturdy and the trans dropped about 8" at the tailshaft, but those mounts kept it from dropping any further.
I highly recommend them!

Thanks. You will probably get a pm from me soon. I need to start doing research. Probably need transfer case mounts also.

Need to take my rig to the frame shop. Keep forgetting. Been driving it every day though. Today I took my daughter to get ice cream then get her nails painted then a slurpee. She loves riding in the Burban. That's what she called it. Burban daddy Burban!!!!

Thanks guys!

Can't believe how this rig has changed.

It looked great before but I bet nobody park's next to you at the store now and it makes lane merging a breeze. :woot:

That's funny. It does get a lot of attention and looks. I wish I could beat this thing everyday. Can't wait to take it to KOH this year!!!!

I done messed it up good this time. Might have to junk the frame if it's not fixable.

Entered a Tuff Truck deal at the fairgrounds. I thought I just lost the front shaft. Then steam came up. Broke the upper rad hose. The fan got it. Had it towed home and the next day I found the big problem. The frame is bent big time.

I hope it can be fixed, If not time for a 70' Chevy truck or a K5 Blazer.

Here are some pics. Only video is from a friend in the stands.

Here are some pics. I will get better ones.

Hose.

Missing something.

And the frame.

Just noticed I bent the shackle too.

Shaft smashed the trans lines.

This picture is where the worst part is. The cracking is paint. The shock mount and a foot of frame on each side is bent inward. Not good.

Here is the first stack of cars.

And the second stack. This is where I came down on the front passenger side.

:( Darn Jeff. I loved this build up. Maybe you can transfer it all over to a 1-ton frame and continue. You beat on this more than most people ever do, and I'm surprised the frame held up this long with all the jumping.

I will see what the frame shop can repair. If they can get it close that will be fine. It is going to them this week I hope. I will then box and to what I can to keep this rig!!!!!

My nutz still hurt pretty bad from the Vasectomy I had on Thursday. Im sure driving over cars didn't help the pain either.

I have contemplated the same surgery many times. I have yet to pull the trigger though.

Which one, the frame boxing or the vasectomy?

I was gonna go there, but couldn't find a way to make "boxing the frame" a euphemism for "getting your nutsack cut open" :haha:

Oddly, both my frames are open (i.e. I've had the surgery but my truck hasn't :doah: )
