push the end cap until you can get the ring out, if you can't push it in, rotate the steering box shaft and try again. It will take some force to push the cap in. I actually ended up mounting the box and then tried to get the cap off. Once the ring is out, turn the wheels and the cap will fall right off, including a little fluid.

Putting the new one on is easy. Turn the wheels back the other way, so the hydrolic ram part is pulled into the steering box. Place the new piece in, put ring on, rotate a little with the wrench to "seat" the cap and turn the wheels again. Mine seems to be fine and doesn't move or leak.

If someone doesn't like this, let me know WITHOUT yelling at me please. :)

Cool, Thanks!

I picked up my spare driveline today. Its my old one that was thrashed. The driveline shop cut it up on accident, So they fixed it. Looks weird though. Never seen a driveline like this. He said its as good as new! Is it sleeved? I have no idea! He did say it will take a beating. I will find out.

Well, I am almost ready for action. The only thing left is to install rear shocks. add fluid to T case and Tranny and button up the steering box.

The monster truck and tuff truck event is commin up soon, So I need to be ready to tear some chit up! My plan this yr is to not enter the mud bogg, It sucks and is only water anyway. There is 2 rounds of tuff truck. I will stay on course the first round and launch the burb off the jump and second round I will go off course and jump the car stack! Last yr I hit the car stack after the event was over and nobody was there, This yr I will do it in front of 5K people!!

Tom(Bradshawtech) came over and we helped lastnight! Big thanks to him.

He welded up my XJ shaft. Sweet welds!

Whatever!!! I would love to see that every time I open the garage door!!:thumb:

Thats funny, Tom said the same thing. trash you spare and not the good one!!! Great minds think alike!
plus since it looks like they double walled/sleeved the spare, it might take the beating a little bit better than the standard one anyway. :dunno:

I was delivering some medical supplies to a patient and couldnt pass a hardware store. $40.00 for the 4" PVC and a cap and threaded end cap and pvc glue. Now I need to cut it down and find a spot inside to mount it. I will need to find a way to do this. It needs to be some kind of clamp so I can unhook it and slide it out. It will go under the back side window somewhere.

Are you kidding? It's long! I got It cut down to size, caps glued and trying to mount it under the big back side window. Won't fit. It does fit though behind the middle seat on the floor. There is only about an inch of space front to back. I need to take it wheeling with me, but also I need a nice space back there to sleep. I need to find a way to mount It.

I will post some pics in the morning. Going to be nice to have a spare with me at BB12!
