'88 Blazer 2016 Changes. Not many....Yea.

you could do just fronts...

I've seen cheap stock replacements at JC Whitney, I'm sure your local parts place could source em, etc...

but I'm sure if you don't mind spending a bit extra, ORD can have Alcan make you up a sweet riding set to whatever spec you want...

someone will chime in tonight...

sdtrucksprings.com:waytogo: like a 150 a piece

My notes and For those that might be curious - Truck Weight with less than 0.25 tank = 5900

Left front = 1640 Top of Axle to Bump stop 10" -------- Right front = 1360 Top of Axle to Bump stop 9.75"

Left rear = 1560 Top of Axle to frame 12.25" ---------- Right rear = 1340 Top of Axle to Frame 12.25"

Total Left = 3200 ----------------------------- Total Right = 2700

Tony, I looked up springs on the link that Rick posted, then went to my local spring shop to order them...they were made by Dayton, and I'm pleased with them.
As far as weight bias in the front, you could add a leaf to the dr side pack maybe?

Any good spring maker could make springs that weren't the same capacity side to side.

Hell, some companies already do that. The Old Man Emu springs on my Tracker are different weights between the driver's side and passenger side.

Dave, I knew I was heavey on the drivers side (i was in the truck, too) So I was a little concerned about just ordering a factory replacement.

AJMBLAZER, I talked to Steven at ORD and he wanted me to get the weights and measurements to talk about building a spring to make things right for the truck. I like this idea of trying to do things right, but it cost money, so we'll see. I want this truck running and not cut corners that I will regret.

First shop distractions. This truck made me think of Mike (TheBeast 88k5).
If your still watching this pics for you.

This truck has a 502 in it:waytogo:

Same shop.

Now to my truck. I put new seats in the back but know real good pictures and installed new springs from ORD. No more blocks, it drives great, and my Wheelchair lift just misses touching the ground so it's as high as the truck can go and I'm liken the stance. Here's some pics.
Passenger front spring:

Driver front install:

Rear springs installed:

And weight on the wheels:

And more importantly, no more noises when steering. Thanks for all your input:waytogo:. I may have to shim my rear axle because of noise from my drive shaft when I'm off the throttle. Does that sound like a drive shaft angle issue to you guys?

Looks good! :waytogo:

When the shop you use is filled with other enthusiast vehicles like that, it's a good sign you've found the right mechanic.

Thanks guys! I'm real happy with the progress of my truck even though there are some stressful moments with the good. The spring order was stressful and it wasn't as smooth as the pictures can make it. With this order my left front was a little low and I needed to add a zero rate to make things sit right, but we're good now.:waytogo:

Interesting trip to work today: As I was going to work and driving past my home town gas station it was full of rigs, so I pulled into take a picture and I find out it's the Ultimate Adventure tour with 4Wheel and Off Road Magazine. The first guy I meet other than the town cop is Stephen from ORD. Stephen and everyone was shocked we knew each other via a quiet a few phone conversation with my spring order.:haha:

AWESOME!

What are the odds of timing that so perfectly? Quite a few CK5 members are on that UA trip..... I'm following a few of them on FacePlace and seeing some great photos.

Stephen is a great guy. Soft-spoken and humble, but man do I love sitting around listening to him talk about trucks and engineering-related stuff.

I thought a lot of the rigs looked familiar. It was just a little shocking with the whole experience, too bad those pictures are the only ones I have. I wish I was driving my Blazer and I said "my truck is only a mile away and I'll go get" but they where in a hurry to hit the road. The funny thing is as soon most of them saw me getting out of my Suburban they were gathering to check it out, and all I was thinking is my Blazer is what I would rather show you guys:haha: They had a couple video cameras going and video taped me getting in and out of my Suburban, but my Blazer still beats that. Oh well it was still cool.

They posted pics of your Suburban on FacePlace. They called it the "Transformer Suburban"..... sounds like it was a real hit with the UA boys! :waytogo:

That's awesome!

Your suburban is pretty cool in person. I'd like to see the blazer next :thumb:

Great updates

Adam, You would've loved it. They gave me a handful stickers.:haha: It was a pretty cool experience and I'm glad I took the time to stop.
