'88 Blazer 2016 Changes. Not many....Yea.

Sweet upgrades Tony!

When you say sell it, you meant the whole rig? Or just the lift?

I was thinking the whole truck? I'm torn on this decision. My wife actually doesn't want me to, and my Suburban is in the shop all week so it is my DD for at least this week. That is the reason I bought it in 08' so I had a backup for when my Yukon was down.

A little info on this truck. It just so happened I had a dream and drawings on how I wanted to build my self a top less jeep to cruise for years. I found ck5 when debating about purchasing the truck on the first page, and because of ck5 and friend with body work talent I have my dream convertible 4 wheel drive. Selling hmmm?

A couple things about selling it. I know the history of this truck from the day it was tore apart in Canada to put this wheelchair lift in it in 1988. It would have to be the right owner. There is not another one of these trucks out there, and if it's gone I don't want to miss it too bad. For these reasons I'm not going to let it go cheap. I just don't know what that price is yet, but if I don't get it. The truck stays with me:pimp:.

Very clean and great choices on design and components!

Thanks! I try to do something to improve it for me every year. The wheelchair lift has issues I've been dealing with. One nice thing is that I can make it work, but it isn't right.

Hey there, Tony.

It is a beautiful truck, no doubt about it. Would take an exceptional buyer with an exceptional amount of funding to pry such a nicely-set-up rig from my fingers.

Side note, Wifey found this picture while looking for camper ideas. We both thought of you right away. :thumb:

Lol. Yep that's my suburban. It's still in the shop getting all the add on equipment repainted and fixing my rear bumper where one of my truck drivers backed into it. I really could have used it today. First time I got caught in the rain with the top down on the Blazer, but I still made it to work in not too bad of shape . Hopefully, the fix ups on the suburban will keep it running and looking descent for another 6 to 10 years.

We'll I'm glad I have the Blazer. I got the suburban back after about 2 weeks and now I'm having issues with it. The battery went dead (I'm pretty sure my fault) and in the process of jumping it some cables got crossed and I thought I fried my battery. We did get it jumped to drive me home (45 minute drive) on the bad battery, but as soon as I shut it off the truck was dead. I replaced it yesterday and the truck is still dead with the brand new battery. Does anyone have a suggestion for 2011 suburban on any breakers or fuses I hopefully popped? On a lighter note. I'm really enjoying driving the Blazer more, and because of the rain that seems to be here every other day, I'm running safari style with my top. In the morning I run a little heat and I'm not worried about rain. It's just an enjoyable way to get around.

I'll have to remember what I did last year. I know it wasn't much. I had to modify my soft top at the driver door because of a new wheelchair. My push handle was hitting the frame when getting in and out. I don't have pictures right now, the mod was somewhat of a hack job, but I didn't have many options. I'm hoping to do a a few mods to my roll cage this year, but I'm having trouble finding someone to help with that project. The stock car builder is no longer building anything.

The Suburban was in the shop in early March for a week so the Blazer came in handy again. I still really like driving it even though it's not the greatest for me to get in and out, and the soft top is noisy, but other than that she's still running.

I hopefully have a good update in a couple months.

i've been running it with the rings off for over a year now.

Your Blazer looks great. I'm New as of today. Have no idea how this all works but I have something I need help with. Trouble with sorting out an area of the wiring harness. Small section of the harness is missing and I need to know what color wire/wires went to the larger white wire from the gray plug on the coil. The coil has 2 plugs, a black one with a pink and a white wire, and a grey plug with a large pink and a large white wire. What wire/s does the white wire on the grey plug join with? Thanks for any accurate help.

Welcome BOB
Posting your question up in the Tech section is going to get you better help/more traffic(not that TREA18 won't help.)
Year, make, model and more details of what wiring you're looking for and where will help.

Thank you for the tip. Was hoping this poster might pop the hood and see which color wires they were. Mine is also an 88 5.7l. Coil has two plug-ins. One black and one grey. The rest is in the question. Thanks again.

Rodent must have eaten a portion of the harness at the back of the engine near the distributor.

What kind of cage work do you need done? I'm not that far away and have the tools to get it done. :waytogo:
It wouldn't be the first time I worked on your truck lol.

Sorry I'm not much help. I would go to tech section there are some great minds on here that can sort this out better than me. Lol

Thanks for the compliment on the truck.

My seats are no longer factory and I don't like how they are installed. I would like to add bars on the floor attaching to the existing cage, and then mount seats to the new bars. Interested?

Thanks! Adam
I had to do a new transmission again this spring. That was not cool but it finally feels right, so hopefully it last.
