88 Jimmy Stuck in 4x4

If you want to stick your head under neath your truck, and look at the transfer case to see if it is an NP208 or an NP241, and you don't want to actually crawl under there and wipe the grease of the round tag that tells you exactly what it is, just look at the out put of the transfer case. An NP208 has a large one piece output housing. An NP241 has a 2 piece output housing. There is a small extension, that bolts on with 4 bolts.

Sounds like you got it fixed. Highly suggest you get rid of the auto hubs though. The standard warn hubs are a significant upgrade and will give you that piece of mind that they do work.

yeah I gotta suggest it to the ball n chain..
cause if its not broke don't fix it haha..

im trying to talk her into preventive measures.. like 60/12b (no need for fat 14b) and chromo shaffs..

12 bolt is not much stronger if at all then 10 bolt. put your big boy pants on go 14 bolt lol also warn front hubs cost about $100 new. If you want it that bad I can break it for you :D

That would be a strange combination. A 12 bolt is no stronger than your current ten bolt, and only comes in 6 lug.

The Dana 60 would be WAY stronger than your rear axle, and comes in 8 lug.

I guess I'm not sure why you would want a Dana 60, if you weren't going to put a 14bff in the rear. A semi floating 14 bolt would be an improvement over either a 10 or 12 bolt.

Martin

I can probably just go to a 44 in the front (unless there's flat top knuckles for 10b) haven't done research yet

Dana 44 and 10 bolt knuckles are interchangeable.

What are your plans with this truck?

Martin

Or just a set of knuckles. The flat top knuckles are usually found on external hub Dana 44's and that is actually a downgrade from what you have.

Martin

How so? And not really sure with my plans its a clean un molested truck originally I wanted to just do moderate trails with but I'm leaning toward the might as well go for a anywhere rig

The external hub Dana 44's like to break the lockout off where it bolts to the hub. The later internal hub Dana 44's cure that, but they also don't have the flat top knuckles.

As nice as you rig appears to be, I wouldn't get to caught up in lifts and such. Just drive it.
