89 1 Ton S10 Build...

It might not even be on a month. THe BC Bronco's also only has the bolt holding it together. Where it moves. The truck isn't even in my possession currently. When I get it back , I need to make shifter , plumb brakes , and plumb steering. The Gonna drive it locally for about a month or so then tear down rear. So it might not even be there that long. I am actually contemplating making the D70 Rear steer. With Rock Kingpins , and Knuckles.

The purpose of leaf springs is to located and provide up and down movement of the axle. The main load that the axle sees is the beaming load thought the spring perches this is a compressive load there for the ubolts are not seeing and tension. The downside of the non ubolt design i would be the performance under tension loads and shear loads. Of the tension and shear loads the shear loading is what i would be most worried about. This weakness would mostly be driven by the diameter of the bolt used for the clamping load

These are the CAD Ram Mounts..

Alright Philip, this will get us under the high steer arm for more uptravel. And you won't have to muck with the steering to pull the diff cover.

Been a busy afternoon. Blew a tire playing in the new boulder garden lastnight and that delayed me getting home today.

Sorry if this has been covered, but what did you use to weld on your outers? Arc rod or mig?

Mig MM252 My Buddy Chris did them. The guy who currently has the truck. He's been doing most the front work for me. I was lacking time to do it...
