Understandable. I got a set of duckbill style for those 20+ years ago , and am glad that I did, even though I don't use them on a monthly basis anymore.
Are you going to pull the planetary out, and clean it all? I discovered that there can be a good amount of wear debris held by the ring for the planetary.

I might but everything is in good shape. If I get some extra time maybe. Dune season is very close.

Yeah I bought a pair like this years ago for doing big truck transmissions, they use a lot of those style snap rings. They still suck getting them out sometimes.

Even with the proper pliers those snap rings are spawns of Satan. Sometimes they cooperate but usually the other way around

Pressed out the bearings and tried to finish the sye. Think I need to clock the pump if possible or I have the wrong speedo housing provided by jb conversions.

This is the only position the pump fits in the housing and the pickup will not fit/ reach.

Did they accidentally send you a kit for a driver's drop 241?

Possibly. I talked with John from JB before I ordered. I said I had a passenger drop mechanical 241 and I want a sye kit. He gave me the part number and then I ordered it.

I think it is driver, I tried to put a vss driver side housing on my pass side 241 and ran into the exact same prob and the bolt holes didn’t line up exactly..

Talked with John from jb. Was very helpful. I just need to press the bearing from the new housing out and install it in factory housing in. They will be refunding me the cost of the housing.

Your Super duty shaft bolted right in? I just dropped mine off to get shortened.

No i was refering to angle. I will have to shorten it about 3-4"

I'll probably just buy a new one rather then buy parts to fix this worn out cv.

Oh, I was going to ask which model you got it from. I didn't any that were close to the correct length.

Pulled the axle and started grinding all the old crap off. Had Adam cut me some tab and slot perches just to be different. Noticed I have a dragging hub on the rear axle. Gonna have to take a look at that. Hopefully I can finish the rear axle quickly then get to cutting the old bumps off and start putting on the air bumps.
